Well.... I hate to come in and stir the water, but............. Coming from a Cummins and ASE certified and diesel equipment certified TRS user, yours truley, HEUI injection is by far the most stupid idea ever constructed to be an injection system on a diesel.... Hydaulic Electronic Unit Injection operates by the use of a high pressure oil system to operate a slave cylinder that shoves the diesel fuel through the injector.. I have worked on fords and 'Navistar' diesels and I think Ford actually won when they had thier diesels in medium duty truck in the '80's and '90's.. They should have stuck with it... So.... Personally I own 2 Dodges with Cummins engines in them... My main daily driver is a '94 with 300K miles on it. I get 16 city/ 22 hwy MPG, the engine doesn't consume a drop of oil. The breather tube drips one drop of oil on the ground the size of a dime when it sits overnight. I have some very minor performance work done to it.. Last time it was dyno'd I made 365rwhp/ 785 rwtq, RELIABLY... The other is a '97 with 223k miles on the truck and 10k on the engine and 12k on the trans. It has 15:1 pistons, a cam, some more fuel, and a turbo. I daily drive that as well and it has 700 rwhp, no need to say I only get about 5-12 mpg, but that doesn't consume any oil either, and I drive it to the track and run 12's... The B series Cummins Turbo Diesel is by far the best engine ever to be put in a Light Duty Truck, Duramax/ Isuzu a close second, and im pretty sure I'd put the 6.2/ 6.5 chevy V-8 Diesel ahead of any HEUI powerstroke....
"The only thing that runs good on a powerstroke is the owners mouth."
...and as for the Ramburban that is FUCHING AWESOME![]()
