dodge suburban?

Well.... I hate to come in and stir the water, but............. Coming from a Cummins and ASE certified and diesel equipment certified TRS user, yours truley, HEUI injection is by far the most stupid idea ever constructed to be an injection system on a diesel.... Hydaulic Electronic Unit Injection operates by the use of a high pressure oil system to operate a slave cylinder that shoves the diesel fuel through the injector.. I have worked on fords and 'Navistar' diesels and I think Ford actually won when they had thier diesels in medium duty truck in the '80's and '90's.. They should have stuck with it... So.... Personally I own 2 Dodges with Cummins engines in them... My main daily driver is a '94 with 300K miles on it. I get 16 city/ 22 hwy MPG, the engine doesn't consume a drop of oil. The breather tube drips one drop of oil on the ground the size of a dime when it sits overnight. I have some very minor performance work done to it.. Last time it was dyno'd I made 365rwhp/ 785 rwtq, RELIABLY... The other is a '97 with 223k miles on the truck and 10k on the engine and 12k on the trans. It has 15:1 pistons, a cam, some more fuel, and a turbo. I daily drive that as well and it has 700 rwhp, no need to say I only get about 5-12 mpg, but that doesn't consume any oil either, and I drive it to the track and run 12's... The B series Cummins Turbo Diesel is by far the best engine ever to be put in a Light Duty Truck, Duramax/ Isuzu a close second, and im pretty sure I'd put the 6.2/ 6.5 chevy V-8 Diesel ahead of any HEUI powerstroke....

"The only thing that runs good on a powerstroke is the owners mouth." :icon_thumby:

...and as for the Ramburban that is FUCHING AWESOME :headbang: :icon_hornsup: :headbang: :icon_cheers:

So go find a Dodge/Cummins forum to brag on dillweed.

In mexico they have the 2 door ramchargers which look fucking sweet, but ive never seen that shit before. Up here there are 4 door broncos which is new to me. blew my mind when I saw one tooling around like it was nothing special.

Somethin like this?

REAL Fords have Powerstrokes. Real Dodges have Cummins. your point?

^^^^:icon_rofl: NOOOOOO!!!! I didn't know that!!!! thanks for pointing it out!

This whole thing is turning into the classic "Ford vs. Chevy"..."Colt vs. S&W"...".45acp vs. 9mm" argument...I give, you win....feel better now?

Actually, this is turning into nobody vs. nobody.... You accused Dodge trucks of being junk and I proved you wrong and said powerstrokes are an ill-designed engine.. That is all DILWEED.. :icon_thumby:

There is one of these running around my area.

sorry , but i would have to go with a CAT , i read an article in off-road about a guy that had a buddy in fords truck r&d department back in 76 , he got his buddy to convince ford to build a one off truck for him , he needed a chase truck for baja , so they took a 76 2WD F-350 , put in a CAT 1126 Diesel and an allison automatic , the truck was insane , i will see if i can find the article

and that white one is like the one i saw in readers rigs

was that sarcasm ?

and it was awesome just because it was a 2WD 1 ton with a CAT diesel , that is what is so great

ok... then i guess you are easily amused, oh well....

if you go on the kragen website and click on truck accessories it comes up with a dodge suv of some sort....any body know what it is?

http://www.partsamerica.com/TruckAccessories.aspx

Dodge built that suv about the same time they had the T-Rex concept!

I used to be huge into dodge until i discovered the rangers but i think they built that for south America or mexico it was suppose to come over to the states but it never made it. It even had a different name but i can't remeber it.

OOOOOOhhhhhh you hurt my feelings, I am so sad. You PROVED me wrong by "saying" powerstrokes were an ill-designed engine.

Sorry to burst your bubble sunshine, but it's gonna take a little more "proof" than you simply stating it.

You're a Dodge (or Cummins or WTF ever) mechanic so you're biased towards them, and I work at the Superduty truck plant installing engines, so I am biased toward them.....We ain't EVER gonna see eye to eye pal.

considering a 460 big block of the era put out an "anemic" 220 HP with only 360 ft-lbs of torque....ya a 200 HP diesel truck was impressive...especially when you consider the nearly 500ft-lbs the 1100 series could put out.

500ft-lbs is still respectable by todays standards.

If it wasn't for a Government loan, Dodge would not even be in existance in the near future.

Judging by the signs, Chrysler is definitely going to fall before the American auto industry recovers.

So, see? By this time next year, there probably won't be a Chrysler. Problems already solved.

THAT ENDS THE ARGUMENT!
