i found a guy selling a set of dana 44 axles, he is not sure what they came out of, the front is 58inches wms, first what is wms? lol. and secondly, its a drivers side drop so will it work for a sas on my 94 ranger?

Yes the driver side drop will work on your '94. The 58" is the width of the axle; I have no clue what WMS is.

Remember, I want your steering knuckles and brakes off the Dana 35.

if i get these axles you have first crack at the knuckles and brakes off my 35, i will have zero use for them. i hope this works out, i will have this thing under my truck in no time

Where are you located at? My brother has a matching Dana 44 and 9" with 3.73 gears out of a '78 Bronco he wants to get rid of.

im in jersey, your brother has the full width right? this set is 300 and i have no use for the rear so i will end up selling that. i dont think the rear dana 44 can match the strength of my explorer 8.8

Dana 44 rear? Are they out of a Jeep?

Yea my brothers is full width.

here they are, hopefully someone can identify them, oh and johnny thanks for the info on wms, i feel a little stupid not figuring that out on my own lol

In all your arrogance, you don't know what Wheel Mounting Surface is?

wow. :icon_idea:
Hey at least I have the ability to admit when I don't know something. Nice way to be a dick already.

I have no clue what that rear axle is. It looks like a 44 rear, but the picture is too far away to tell for sure.

thanks man, like i said i am only concerned bout the front mostly because i have an explorer rear and thats plenty strong for what i need. i just want a dana 44 in the front. and it already has disk brakes so thats even better, all i will have to do is upgrade the axles for the bigger u-joints and put it to work.

Even in stock form, a Dana 44 is strong enough for a Ranger. Unless you plan on jumping your truck, I wouldn't worry about the larger axles; that is just another expense you could spend elsewhere.

i was reading in the tech library that the eb dana 44's came with tiny u joints that make it weaker then the ttb 35, i not sure what this axle came out of but if it has them u joints in it then i have to upgrade them, i dont want to have that in the back of my mind every time i go wheeling.
