You can reuse the nuts off the M5OD. Been doing it for years with no issues.

Hello, this may seem like a silly question but can I use parts from my 4.0 OHV M50D-R1 to use on one of your 3.0 manual cases ? I cannot stand the dash button crap it has now. Noob here learning the various cross compatibility aspects of these trucks...

Thanks,
Leigh

The 1350 manual transfer case will bolt to the M5OD transmission in place of your 1354e transfer case. The one thing to check is to make sure the bosses are present on the M5OD tailhousing so you have a place to bolt the shifter. But, I believe in 91 the bosses should be there.

My truck is a '91. I will look for them, would you happen to have a picture or diagram of what I'm looking for ?

This is a TK but you can see the boss below the shifter. The 4wd levers pivot on a big bolt that goes there. There is a smaller boss behind that that stabilizes the shifter bracket.

If you are really hard up you can make a braket to put levers on a newer transmission.

This is the boss you need. I can't remember if you also need the one just to the right of it that has that bracket. But if you have one, I'm sure the other will be there. On some later trucks, the bosses are there, but not drilled and tapped. That just means you would have to do some drilling and tapping.

Perfect, thank you for the pictures. When I get home I will crawl under and have a looksee. One step closer to no buttons...lol
