It’s certainly no dirt bike, but I jumped in with a group doing gravel/dirt and mild off road last Friday down near Deal’s Gap and it did great (it was way more capable than the rider).

That’s the beauty of the V - it’s pretty decent at everything. Not sexy, but incredibly practical.

Anybody interested in splitting a cabin? I don’t mind tent camping, but the cost of a cabin split two ways makes it a great option.

Considered that too. Check out the bed arrangement before you commit to that plan. I wouldn't do great sleeping in the loft, but also a heavy dose of I just want my own space.

Yeah you definitely have to pay attention to the configuration for each cabin.

Seems like they get more beds as the cabin numbers go up. That's partly why we got #1. It's just a queen bed. I think there was one that had 5 beds?

We gonna end up doing a Ranger and motorcycle meet? LOL

...and F-150 if I'm going to make it, the Ranger is in no shape to go.

It's a Ranger enthusiast meet!

Honestly, if I could find a way to load it up and unload there, I'd very much enjoy some local cruising on the bike. Especially with good company.

I could ride it and let my wife drive the truck...

What’s stopping you from loading it in the bed?

It's heavy and I'm weak. Seriously though, I could get it done. Might have to pull the toolbox to get it to fit and ride the interstate.

Edit: If a couple other people wanted to ride from the campground, I'd make it a point to bring it...

The only truck I own that my motorcycle would fit in the bed of is the F-100's 8 footer, and that's with the tailgate down. 2003 Honda Shadow Sabre and it's every bit of 8 foot long. Even if it would fit in any of them, no way am I going to try to get it into the bed of a truck, just too low for that.

That's a big part of why I wanted a toyhauler type camper.

There's like a 99% chance that mine will still be parked under the carport collecting dust come October. Even if I did have it running and bring it along, it would be pavement only. Well packed and smooth dirt road (like around the campground) at worst, any signs of sand, mud, or loose gravel and I'm turning back.

I'd probably ride loose gravel, VERY slowly. That shit scares me on the bike. And I try to avoid mud all together.

I had a Vulcan 1600 in the back of a Frontier for a few hours today. Definitely had to have it diagonal with the gate down.

Among other things it reminded me why I don’t really want to own a land yacht cruiser like that. But I’d love to take it for a decent ride if the transmission weren’t acting up.

I almost refuse to put my bike in the back of a truck again. Every time I do, something gets damaged or I almost get hurt. The day I bought the bike, I brought it home in my 97 F150 and dropped it in the bed before I got it out. Broke some plastic before I ever even rode the thing. It would fit better in the 8ft superduty bed. But, no. Ain't doing it. I'll tie it down all alone on the 20ft car trailer if I have to haul it.

With that said, I haven't ridden since the day of my heart attack. I'm afraid my wearable defibrillator might want to shock me and I won't be able to cancel the shock fast enough. I should be riding again later this month.

'22 KLR 650. I'll do gravel and dirt roads carefully. Not comfortable with them yet. Plus, I have a pavement tire on the rear right now and a worn out Michelin Anakee Wild on the front.

Fun story. When I rode out to the Moore Expo a couple years ago, the last few miles to the campground were in county gravel roads. The gravel was very round like marbles, not crushed stone, and there was a pretty good layer of loose gravel. Then, the campground parking lot was about a 3" deep layer of that stuff. I rode very carefully in that area.
