4.0 SOHC or 5.0 Swap?

Where can i find a thread for the 2.3 ecoboost swap?
I’m not sure that there is one. That is the motor being used in the new Rangers though

Here's a completely useless, disconnected, stream of Consciousness rant that is probably completely worthless to everyone and helps absolutely nobody. I thought about this exact swap a lot. Also, I'm writing this in voice to text while working on a lawnmower, and I'm not going to go back through and fix whatever the stupid AI screwed up.

Ecoboost swap is possible, and has been done. There is a two-wheel drive out there somewhere with a 2.0 L EcoBoost running in it. Jim has seen it with his own eyes, it was a very nice truck from what I've been told. I looked at doing this in my 2011, and the candidate Motors were the 2.0 ecoboost, the 2.3 ecoboost, and the 2.5 Mazda speed Turbo. The Mazda turbo seem to be the best option for longevity and for balance. The EcoBoost motors, while awesome, have longevity issues. I've seen it myself with a 2.3 explorer that I will never speak of again. As far as I know, all three engines have a pilot bearing hole in the back of the crankshaft to allow fitting of a manual transmission because automatics are for women. There are two wheel drive transmissions out there that fit the 2.3 duratak, which is just the naturally aspirated version of the ecoboost, but would require a complete gut swap with a four-wheel drive transmission in the addition of a transfer case adapter out of a donor 4 L truck. Not that big of a deal, but you'll have a lot of time wrapped up into it. The new manual trans that fits the Bronco is a cool number, but they are known to have issues. Fitting one into a truck is really no big deal since the shifter operates on a push pull cable system. More fabrication work, but if you're already looking down the road of engine swapping, you probably understand you're going to have a lot of bullshit to deal with. The 2.5 Mazda swap made the most sense to me because it is a notoriously good engine and the only difficult work I would have in front of me is swapping guts into m50d transmissions, which is really no big deal for me. The one nice thing about all of these engines is that no fitment of custom engine mounts would really be required since from what I understand all of them use the standard 2.3 duratec mounts available in any 2.3 duratec Ranger. Call me a girl but if i had a 2.3 ecoboost in my 85 paired with the 10 speed auto, out of a newer mustang, would be gnarly. Standalone ECU and TCM kits are available.

That idea has been knocking around in my head too.

Not sure if I'd do it in the 85 longbed. I might have to put it in the pile of parts shortbed 86 along with an AJE cross member. Build an autocross or drift truck. Don't know why, no place to really use either here, but I like the idea.
