Not sure why I get a perfect flare.....then the next is slightly deeper and a bit 'bowl' shaped ?

I think the cause of the occasional bowl shaped deeper flare is not tightening the punch until it's completely flush with the tool base.
I was being cautious not to screw the punch down too tight........and maybe 1/2 to 3/4 final turn of screw being missed.

My flared tube can stand on its end unassisted on a table. I guess that's a good sign.

I was multi-tasking this weekend and didn't finish.

I did get the new brake line extended under the truck along the frame. It's in place right next to the original brake line still in use. It was kind of difficult. I'm glad I used excess brake line. Because one of the fittings is wrong, and I have to cut off the end and re-flare the tube.

By the way, the reason I am installing the brake line is to remove the rear ABS valve and bypass it altogether. It will be a continuous brake line from master cylinder to brake line junction over rear axle. It has been disconnected from the module for a long time anyway. I don't like rear ABS. The valve breaks...is expensive to replace....and it doesn't distribute fluid in correct proportions. I adjusted my braking style with it disconnected. Plus, It might be causing a brake pedal vibration.

Will the rear braking be more sensitive with less pedal travel, with that rear ABS valve gone, and replaced with that straight thru brake line?

Hooked up new brake line and bled the brakes. No leaks. Brakes work fine except for the pulsating cause which I have been trying
to pinpoint for a year. Did all the troubleshooting.

Without ABS, there are only a couple possibilities that I can think of. A rotor (or drum) is warped. The vacuum level is pulsing somehow. I guess is fluid were boiling it could feel that way.

I was reading somewhere that one person's cause of pulsation was loose wheel bearings. Not sure how that works but it's an easy check.

I checked about 7 different possibilities except master cylinder. Used a dial indicator also.
When I was at emission testing several months ago, they simulate cruising speed by running the rear wheels on that roller dyno
treadmill thing while the front wheels are stationary. No pulsating or 'washboard dirt road' vibration I've had for a year, when they did that run-up.

I also feel pulsating pushing the brake pedal up against my foot at 10mph. Would warped rotor manifest itself at that low of a speed?

Warped rotor would be there at all speeds. But the frequency of the pulses would change with wheel speed. At 10mph, some people might feel it and some might not. But it would be a slow pulse.

There at any speed. Intensity depends on how warped. (or bent!) The last pair I took off were more bent than warped. How the #$% that happens IDK, but they had one spot which stuck on rotation. Same spot every time. Laid em on the table and had 1/4in clearance under the spot that stuck. It was about as wide as the brake pad with a smooth taper to the rest of the surface.

Mine at least was due to an out of round tire in a bad alignment causing a hop that new bearings calmed way down. My DF wheel bearing was loose.
