Yes, it was. I did say Chevy. I am sorry.Wasn't the Syclone a GMC?

No i get that...im just used the SS and lightning as examples of how ford seems to bring a knife to a gun fight at times
GM seemed to be going for the muscle car formula though....which personally to me is more appealing...Not really.
The Lightning was pretty comparable and really Ford put more effort into it than GM did.
GM just dropped a one ton truck engine into a half ton with duel exhaust.
Ford modified an existing half ton engine and pretty much tied the big block performance.
90's big truck engines are a long ways from anything sports car/truck like.
Not a problem. If GM would admit that GMC's and Chevy trucks were the same vehicle other than the trim and the price, they would outsell Ford. They'd rather let Ford keep the top seller crown so they can keep fleecing their GMC customers. I guess someone who pays more for GMC deserves to be fleeced but it's not nice to take advantage of someone just because they're gullible.Yes, it was. I did say Chevy. I am sorry.
The 1st gen Splash was available with a 4.0 v6. You had a 2wd RBV with a fiberglass bed, but it was comparable to the S-10 with the NA 4.3 than it was to a Syclone.
I've been whining for years that Ford has ignored the street truck scene, for lift kits and big tires. I thought the Maverick was going to fix that, Until they gave us FX4 and Tremor trims on it. The LOBO trucks are appearance only packages and add no real performance to either the Maverick or the F-150.

2025 Ford F-150 Lobo: Not Exactly the Street Truck We Hoped For
The street truck segment is essentially dead, at least when it comes to production models. The Ford F-150 SVT Lightning is long gone, and so is the Dodge Ram SRT-10. GM, meanwhile, never found it a viable option to turn the Chevrolet SSR into something more. Now, about two decades …www.guideautoweb.com
I don't consider any truck with more than two seats to be a "Sport" truck. Period, end of discussion. The first two generations of Lightnings were two seat. The Chubby 454SS was two seat. That first of it's kind Doge with the stacks behind the cab, Little Red Truck, was two seats.
Anyone know what happened to that two seat electric truck, the Slate truck. It looked like one of the new Broncos, minus the back section, which was just a shorty bed. Looked kind of neat to me. Actually considered getting one because they are supposed to be cheap.
Not a fan of electric vehicles, but this one I could do. It's likely the only two seat truck produced these days.
You forgot one...Okay. I'll give you that. Both my 98 Ranger and my 2004 Lightning have split bench seats. Never used them though. Never flipped the center "Console" up so someone could sit there. Too close for comfort IMHO. Unless the one sitting there is a very beautiful woman. And at my age, that ain't happening. LOL!!
The Splash with the big six sounds cool. Otherwise we are pretty stodgy. I believe that Enzo Ferrari once told Henry Ford II, "You build ugly cars."The 1st gen Splash was available with a 4.0 v6.
