I'm going to try and make it out to Ford this year. I typically only make it to the Truck event. Question is.....what Ranger to bring?

My son and I are going down in his 23 Ranger Supercab again, it'll be parked at the school beside the fairgrounds and not on the show field. We first went in 1997, skipped 98 when he graduated, skipped 2010 when his buddy got married, and missed one year during the pandemic. It takes about 8 hours for us to get there.

Oh no, why no show? We want you and the truck! What gives?

Can’t you dig into your shed of miracles, like mine, and sell a couple old tires or such and get the registration fee up?

ALERT!!! Lincoln and I are probably coming in the Road Ranger again! I might even have the cute little brunette “in tow” (well, actually in the cab with me and Lincoln).

If you follow my posts, I’ve been having problems with the Road Ranger since I left the Carlisle Ford Nationals show field last year, literally starting on the ride home and ever since. I think I finally figured it out and got it fixed by swapping the cam sync about a week ago. I’m cleaning it up right now, planning on driving the hound out of it for the next couple weeks to make sure it’s running OK. Well, I won’t really drive Lincoln out, but I’ll test drive it a lot. If it checks out, I’ll sign up in time to get the discount. And, I’m working on a half dozen+ not–so–subtle upgrades: new (old) fold-out mirrors, running boards, improved cab over lights, fog/driving lights in the lower valance, and maybe new CB antennas. The step trailer will have an improved storage box and maybe an additional one under the deck, a rack underneath holding loading ramps for the back, a portable winch on the front, and a secret surprise that has to do with Scary Baby.

I’m hopefully going to show in my class* and win another award.

*my class: “2WD crap that doesn’t fit into any other normal category because it’s so weird class”

And I might not make it for this year, but hopefully for 2027: Hopefully, I’ll have my converter dolly built, and the second trailer finished, and I’ll be driving up “doubles.” I’m still checking some of the DOT rules outside of Georgia on that one. If I run the doubles, I’ll be in the big rig class or ???

And hey, everybody, if I can drive the 11 or 12 hours up there, there’s no reason why 90% of the rest of you guys and gals can’t make it! It’s a HOOT, and @JohnnyO does a great job hosting and he knows all about the features for the weekend. Come on over!!

BTW, now that I know the Road Ranger might be running, that’s why I started posting wise ass comments today. I’ve got a couple of months to make up for!

His truck is his daily driver and he's not as focused on keeping it detailed as I am with my truck and Mustang. After the 8 hour ride to get there cleaning up the truck is low on our list.

My plan is to bring the 2019 in all of it's overlanding glory. That way, I can camp at the campground and have an easy setup and tear down. I'm thinking of showing up Friday night for Saturday and Sunday. It depends on how things play out as to when I arrive.

Sorry for all the text, but there's a lot of info here for anyone who may be interested in participating as an Invitational Feature display vehicle in the Bronco 60th Anniversary event at this year's Carlisle Ford Nationals.​

Please share with anyone you know or groups you're active in for Broncos that should be considered for one of the featured displays at this milestone event.

I've joined and posted into several full size groups over the last few weeks and asked for some help getting more full size Broncos since my expertise and contacts are in the Early Bronco community. So far, I have received very little response from the full size community. So if you want to be represented at this milestone event, please step up to have your eras represented. All I can do is ask and coordinate, it's up to you owners to participate.

Q: What is the Carlisle Ford Nationals?

A: It's the largest Ford show in the world. Over 3300 registered vehicles on the showfield, thousands of vendor spaces in the world's largest Ford parts flea market and Car Corral with millions of parts and hundreds of classic Ford vehicles for sale, and a whole lot more!

Q: What is an Invitational Feature at the Carlisle Ford Nationals?

A: 100 - 200 vehicles are selected to highlight the year's special focus features. This year it the Bronco because of it's 60th Anniversary. A couple of the other features this year are 50 years of Starsky & Hutch Torinos with some real ones and tributes, as well as original cast members, and 50 years of Roush Performance.

Q: If selected, what do I get?

A: Free entry for your vehicle and 3 day entry for you and guest.

Free trailer parking if needed.

Free dry camping on adjoining Carlisle Events property just outside the fairgrounds if desired.

Photo and recognition in the professionaly printed magazine style event program.

A metal display placard with this year's event T-shirt logo artwork and vehicle info with your name, city, state, some specs or interesting info or history you provide during the online application.

A metal license plate with the Bronco 60th Anniversary logo that is only available to Invitational Features.

Thursday evening meet & greet with pizza for Invitational Feature owners.

Q: When does my vehicle need to be there?

A: Invitational Feature vehicles featured inside Building T need to be there by Thursday evening and can not be removed until 1PM Sunday.

Invitational Feature vehicles in outdoor tent displays should be the same, but if needed, there's a bit of flexibility if needed, but it should be on site during the show all three days.

Q: How do I submit an application for my Bronco to be considered for an Invitational Feature spot?

A: Go to the link below and fill out the information as soon as possible. Please include a couple quality photos that you would want to see in the event program if selected. We will not select any without photos. Also , be sure to include vehicle specs and any unique options or history that can be included on you were display sign if selected.

This will be an indoor featured display inside Building T. We're also working with FoMoCo to hopefully get some of the concept Broncos also in Building T as another display to showcase the BRONCO EVOLUTION.

This feature is for any Stroppe related vehicles (Early Bronco Baja edition, 6G Stroppe Edition, any Stroppe race vehicles), any form of race or competition Broncos.

This feature will be outside under a large tent provided by Carlisle Events.

MISCELLANEOUS:
Depending on what all we get for feature Broncos inside Building T, I may have a few of the 20 spots they gave for Broncos left to fill. These can go to any unique or cool Bronco for a variety of reasons such as: ultra low mile, original owner, father/son/daughter restoration project, unique story or history, just a good looking cool Bronco, etc.

So if you've got anything that might fit into one of these categories that may not fit into one of the other Invitational Features you can submit it and be considered for one of these spots.
