What did you do to your 2019 and up Ranger today?

that mainly whats kept me from really digging into adding the controller, i haven't actually had to tow anything that required the controller.
Good reason

I've installed the RedArc tow controller. I was in need when I first bought the truck. I really liked it and it worked really well. I dont really tow much anymore. Truck pulled 4500lbs no problem. Stopping it was a different story haha. Also the reason for the add a leafs I'm running.

i have read that is a popular brand to run.

I have played around with the idea of getting a brake controler. I have not current need for one. So, it hasn't been a priority. Having the option would be nice to have though.

I got a Curt Echo Bluetooth brake controller last year for the camping trailer I rented. It was fine since I don't need one regularly.
If I owned a trailer and towed more I would get a hard-wired unit but for something I may not ever need again the Curt Echo was fine and cost a lot less.

is that a wireless one?

Yes. It plugs into the 7-pin plug then you plug the trailer harness into the Echo. You adjust the sensitivity with your cell phone on a scale from 1 to 10. It defaulted to 5, I just left it there and it worked fine.
Tip: To set it up you have to it plugged in, the trailer plugged in, engine running, and Tow Mode button turned on.
There is a green LED on the Echo that lights up when it has power although in the new Rangers the plug is upside down so it's hard to see.

that may be a better way than worrying about wiring something in

It's good enough for me since I don't tow frequently or own a trailer.
I've rented U-Haul trailers twice but they have surge brakes and my jet ski doesn't weigh enough to need brakes.
