What did YOU do today?

Pretty successful day, my brother has been working on reworking his garage (originally my grandmas, one wall rebuild but surrounded by a pole building so the slab is a mess) and had removed some of the bad concrete that was the base of a stem wall and the 10" of pad they added behind that to the wall... anyway we went to Harbor Freight to get a grinder guard with the vacuum attachment to finish the grinding portion then to Lowes to get concrete, conveniently they had a cull pile of damaged bags that had what he needed plus a couple for like $15 less than we needed... so the ol '97 Ranger got to haul like 950lb of concrete... did fine. Then when we got back we did the concrete project, the old mixer worked fine and we even got a decent finish for our first time... was a good thing we got that pile of open bags since we used about 1 more than we would have without :). Also moved some stuff to make room to build him a loft and worked on a plan for that.

Were you hiding your truck back there? LOL

Your pics turned out better than mine. I'm not gonna bother posting.
Was good to see ya man.

Sometimes having a little bit of OCD isn't fun.
Ordered a new rear wiper for my wife's Pacifica from Rock Auto, the only place I could find one.
Tonight it's like 10* and windy and I'm outside putting it on with gloves because couldn't wait a few days until it's warmer.
Supposed to warm up to 36* on Saturday which is good because I need to change the oil.
But if it was 10* I would still be outside changing the oil.

Too dang cold. The vehicle needs to be hard broke for me to be out working in this weather. I did it already this year with the Escape and 2011. I would not like to repeat that.

I was outside briefly this afternoon. Everything here is frozen solid. I had zero interest in fighting that.

Yesterday, I went and put new shoes on the Ranger. K03's to be exact and they are definate improvement over the the old worn out Michelins that were on it. Slight hum at highway speeds, but I can't hear it that much over the window wind since I now for some reason have exhaust leaking into my cab. Thought it was the shift boot so we a quick fix to get me home I stopped at the Wally world and picked up some duct tape and taped the crap out of it, but I guess it wasn't good enough because I'm still seeing it and smelling it. I know the rubber cover that's supposed to be the initial barrier over the shifter hole isn't screwed down because the holes are torn out and the screws don't hold it on place any more. Thinking that when I get home in the am after work, I'm going to pull the floor console up and maybe over layer the duct tape over the shifter hole and see if that helps until I can get a more permanent solution in place.

I would probably work on fixing the exhaust leak over going crazy about the shift boot... my '90 hasn't had a shift boot screwed down for many years now and other than the extreme heat that comes through that gap in the summer I don't get any exhaust in the cab...

I know what the leak is. My exhaust hangers (2 of them) have rusted away and caused various joints in the exhaust piping to crack. I currently don't have access to a welder or money for a new exhaust system and am using safety wire in a few spots to make due as hangers until I can fix that issue. Also the tail pipe just behind the muffler broke off 2 inches from the muffler due to a missing hanger and some poor welds. They had the exhaust in a dual 45° weld to make a 90° turn for side exit exhaust (very very poor design and they should be whipped for even thinking of it). A lot of the things on this truck are getting fixed on an as needed basis.
