also repaired a little chip in the windshield that showed up around 30k miles.

What did you use and how did it turn out? The F-150 has a spot where a rock hit it. Dad got it "fixed" by glass company through insurance back when it happened, but I can still see it looking out the windshield. Apparently what they injected is supposed to stop spread, but does nothing to fill the chip.

so I did what anyone would do found a chunk of metal pipe and jumped on the riding mower and piped some exhaust to the underside of the slab for 45 minutes or so... hopefully it works!

Dad did that with some field mice that got under a bath tub in their house. Started out cutting a hole in the wall on a closet at one end of the tub and was going to try shooting them with 22 shotshells, but couldn't see them well enough to get a shot. (no surprise there) When that didn;t work he grabbed one of his little generators, and piped the exhaust into the hole he cut. Windows in the house open for adequate ventilation of course. Apparently it worked, I don't think that he ever had another problem with mice under that bath tub.

I just bought a rain-x repair kit at Napa, it seems to have worked really well though. I can still see where the chip was... But just barely. It's 99.5% invisible. I was worried it was still gonna be kinda obvious while driving cause that would bother the hell out of me.. but I'm happy with the results. Give it some time and I'm sure I'll forget it was ever there.

I also "adjusted" the Bronco with Forscan last night.

Neutered the start/stop and seatbelt alarms, activated Baja GOAT mode (so we have them all now) and set the power point timeout to 10 hours for running a fridge.

I really need to get into forscan and see what I can and can't do on the 2019. Seat belt alarms don't bother me so much but disabling start/stop would be awesome.

I’d say I’d trade you plugging in my laptop and seeing what can be done for a day of thrashing on fixing something, but more than half of what I need to do requires welding

I do know the older stuff is more cryptic than the new stuff. There is some things I want to do to the 2011, but you have to know the exact code to modify and what letters and numbers to input or change.

On the 2019, more stuff is just "enable" or "disable" and other recognizable words to the average person.

I always wear my seatbelt when they are needed, I don't need them.

Jockeying around hooking up a trailer or messing with gates the alarms are just pure annoyance.

called to get a price to replace the windshield on the 24 ranger because of a rock strike that cracked it and stopped calling when the cheapest i found was 1k. i can live with a cracked windshield for a while at that price.

also got a call from the va about the sleep study i did last month. not only has my sleep apnea gotten worse (38 events per hour instead of 7), they said i tested positive for hypersomnia and narcolepsy.

no wonder i am tired at work all day long and have problems staying awake. the sleep apnea is controlled with a cpap, which i use 100% of the time, but i also already had been diagnosed with insomnia.

Being a 24, check with your insurance. They often include glass replacement with full coverage on stuff that new. Depending on the size the might repair, or might replace.

oh, its a replace, for sure. i know they cover, the glass place told me. i just dont want to be paying higher rates for the rest of my life because there are rocks on the highway that get thrown up and break my window. i don;t think thats fair. i know insurance says they don't raise the rates but i would be mad if my rates suddenly went up after that.

its 500 to use the insurance to replace the windshield. but then will it be an extra 100 a month for three years on my insurance? thats the question i need to call and find out about. i don;t want the stupid windshield to become a 4100 dollar windshield if that is what happens

If you haven't had a claim in a certain amount of time, most insurance companies do tend to over look the claim as far as raising rates. Now, if it happens again in a year or two, then you will probably see a rate hike.

I bounced a 8pt buck off my F-150 last winter and our rates didn't change... your results may vary though.

Worked on un-f#cking the stereo wiring in the dash of my Ranger.

My 2" Titan spacers for the rear wheels of the Ranger arrived, but that project is getting put off for a few more weeks.
