started installing the cage but i can already tell im going to have to make some changes. the truck isnt going to any big sanctioned events so im not worried about following any rule books... and anything would be better than relying in the thin sheet metal in a rollover.

pull the halo and make it right to the roof and window line. that is like a ss cage and too narrow on the halo. gonna end up knocking yourself out. went exo on the bronco because of that. might still have an hrew halo around.

How is it anchored? To the frame? Using a plinth? Drop it down until all the top portions are fully welded, then lift it up and weld to the frame .

after the seat comes in the mail im going to get the final measurements and see if its to close.

im planning on just welding plates on the feet of the cage and bottom if cab and just run some bolts though and fab up outriggers from the frame to weld on the plates on the bottom of the cab.
something similar to this:

did some more work on the cage today. got most of it in its final place but i will have to wait untill i mount the seat and finish the fire wall and trans tunnel. the cab has moved a lot since i removed the fire wall, so for now i only welded 25% of the cage.

Why does the driver's side look like a cattle gate?

This is how i decided to mouth the front bars to the frame. still gotta figure somthing out for the main hoop

Still gotta weld in some outriggers but they are going to connect to the plate on the bottom.

the tubular radius arms came in the mail. I didnt like the openings on the sides of the arms do i added some metal and welded inside and out to beef them up abit.

interesting.

building in caster would be a better deal i would assume.

beefy.

you need to plate those contact points and tie the fawk out of the frame if you want to run like that though, at least plate around and node them. they will crack out otherwise.

Looks like really nice welds. But I would have liked to see the horizontal piece run under the vertical. Then you're not depending entirely on the weld to hold. And as Bobby says, the frame should have been plated prior to welding the plinth on. It needs re-enforcement...
Hard to tell about the rear attachment points. Hope you got the spring perch area. Best would be to run a piece to the rear shackle area, then a seperate piece from the front spring hanger up.

tried to install the raised transmission cross member today and noticed that the holes are a bit off, so i decided to hold off on modifying it to fit correctly until i mount the motor and transmission in the spot i like, just in case i need to move the cross member farther back from the stock location.
