Abandoned / Pending RBV Projects

Sounds like a drunk driver comfortably numb.

@holyford86 , I’m unfortunately a little behind the curve here. Need to finish setting up my workshop and get to work on the green Ranger. Have to rip the front axle out to fix a big crack in the frame and while it’s apart it’s getting some other stuff handled. Once it’s back among the living and I can scrape up the gas money I’ll be looking to head up. I should be able to get the locker thrown in the Choptop and the front axle working on that to bring up and play too. Ideally I’ll throw a new diff cover on the Choptop, but we’ll see how things go.

They don't need no education, but if they had gotten some, they'd know the Bronco II wheelbase is a perfect 94" match.
yeah, you might need no education, but Money, it buys gas... (and spare parts)

The 96 project has been stalled out all winter, sadly.

Moved into a much more expensive place to live on the first of the year... Convieniently right as work dried up 🤗 COVID construction boom is absolutely over.. so literally haven't even been able to afford the extra gas id need to drive two towns over to tinker with it 😣 most weeks I've been needing to use credit for groceries lol.

Happily.. things are starting to pick back up again. Getting over there Sunday to get back at it 👍🏻 taking the bed off to prep for further surgery and replacing a cab mount bracket.

Wait… you have to buy spare parts?!? I thought you just grew them in a field.

Here’s one that @rusty ol ranger is currently growing.

If anyone is interested: My 87 south of town. I bought it for the bed, the FORD tailgate & panel, and the wheels, for very little money. I was going to make a matching red trailer for my 96 F250. Time just got away, and I never moved on it.

It’s straight as an arrow and rust free, the guy who had it took the engine and transmission out to do a V8 conversion, got clipped in a divorce and it just sat (no engine or transmission).

I’ve got a clean title, and I’m hoping to get it out of there this year, I’m embarrassed I left it down there so long, but I really have no plans for it. I actually bought a tow bar to hook up to it that can go with it. The tires are rotten, but I’ve got four spare wheels I could move it with, but I’d want those wheels back as well as the wheels that are on it now. We could grab four 14” inch steely wheels from the scrapyard for less than 100 bucks.

All the junk is out of of it. The wasps and yellow jackets, as a package deal starting in April.

That's about what Brittney's truck looked like when I got it out. The junk pile wasn't quite that high.

It looks like a GREAT candidate for the 5.0 swap...

@Rick W What I want to say:

Looks like a good source of parts. Where is south of town? Do you have any pictures of the interior, and what engine/transmission did it come with?

What I need to say:

Looks like a good project for someone else. I've got no money to put towards it, no truck to pull it with, and too much stuff in my yard already. Need a bed already divorced from a frame for your project?

It’s down by Atlanta Airport, little south of there. I’ve actually never seen it in person. I have some more pictures somewhere, but I couldn’t find them. For what I paid for it, I could put steel wheels and R&B tires on it, and sell it without the bed for more than I paid for it.

I’ve abandoned that project. A lot of the stuff you guys have seen me do was actually therapy in my life after I got hurt and I got sick. The projects were something I could do, keep busy, and see the results of my labors. As my health has improved, my focus is back on the real estate and family holdings.

I do plan on going to get it sometime this spring or summer. I’ll do a full spread of pictures. I’ll throw it up on TRS before I just sell it locally. I’ve said it before, but it breaks my heart to see how much some of the northern guys spend repairing Rusty whatever, when these rust freeze straight, things are all over the place down here.

I’ve got the VIN number if that will tell you what you want to know about the drive train. I’ll dig it out of the file and post it.

I personally don't have any projects or extra vehicles. However since this is in the general discussion threads, tomorrow I will post some pictures of all of my brother Andy's projects.
That he will probably never ever accomplish and hopefully I will get them eventually.

Be careful about that thinking, you don’t wanna be Dougsbackin!!!
