I'm working on a page about coil springs, but I also need to update a page on using F150 coils. The pics I have are small (500 pixels) on today's screens compared to what they were 20-years ago.

I need pics of F150 and Ranger coils side by side. Bronco II coils would work to. I'd be interested in any pics that showed a visual comparison between a Ford Ranger coil and other coils.

And if anyone has any pics from swapping out your Ranger coils with F150 coils, I could use those pics including pics of them mounted and how they fit.

Thanks!!

Ill try to dig around and find out what pics I have. Not sure what I took. I should have some notes written down somewhere, too. But I think I tried to get as much pertinent info as possible documented in my build thread. I'm at work today. So it might take a day or two to respond fully.

Wish I could help. Why F150 springs in a Ranger? What years?

For suspsion lifts and (I think) for those who want to do a V8 swap but mainly for suspesion lifts.

the coils on 98+ are very close in size to Crown Vics of about the same year. no pics though.

IDK how useful these will be. But at least we'll have some pictures in this thread:

Here's one with the 88 springs next to what are supposed to 4" lift springs unknown brand.

Wait, I'm confused. The two springs shown are a dirty stock 88 Ranger spring and a shiny 93 Explorer spring? Where is the 4" lift spring? Which spring is 0.6565?

No problem, I can move them. What am I looking at besides a bunch of coil springs on a tailgate?

You wanted ranger springs and f150 springs. There is even an f450 spring in there. I think its the first pic of the first post has the details. Only thing I didn't think to write is the stx springs are from a hi-rider.
The springs are laid out farthest is 91 ranger to closest is the f450. Same order as the printed page.

I see, you have sets. A 91, STX Hirider, Bronco, Bronco, F-250? Is that what I'm seeing? May be easier if you had one of each side by side showing the height and width so they all fit in one shot.

Just curious, why do you have the F-250 spring?

The spring rate on that STX coil calculates to 407 ppi. The Bronco coil next to it is 318 ppi.

At 1200 lbs, that Bronco coil would compress to 3.77" to 13.98".

A Ford Ranger spring is compressed to 10.50. So, we could be looking at a lift gain of potentially 3.48".
