TRS Event TRS 25th Anniversary Fall Adventure - Land Between The Lakes - September 5th – 8th, 2024

I haven’t made it back yet, I had a stopover in Chattanooga on some real estate business. I’m going through culture shock since I actually have to wear a jacket and tie for this thing. Truth is, I’d rather be with you guys in the woods, but you’e got to pay the bills!

What a great weekend with a great bunch of guys and gals. Even the little Rugrats were cute. I’m sorry I didn’t get to go down one of the trails, my old bones just weren’t up for it, but I really had a blast watching everybody else, especially the guys who came back in the mystery trucks completely covered with mud!

I’ll post some of the pictures I’ve got. I slept like a rock last night and I have to get going in a little bit here, so mostly I’ll post from home when I get there later tonight

I did have this one though:

Why is it the pretty ones always want to hang out with the bad boys? I’ve never understood it

Man... I hate it that I had to miss out on campfire pizza night.

Thursday:

Thursday @Robertmangrum.rm @85_Ranger4x4 @snoranger @ericbphoto and I arrived after 4-days on the Kentucky Adventure Trail. That will be a story for another thread.

I had to go to Walmart 30-munutes north of Prizer Point Campground and order the cakes for Saturday, and then came back and set up camp before dark.

Friday:

We got a slow start Friday. It was nice to get up and not have to break down camp for a change.

Before we could head out, I got a call from a LBL Law Enforcement Officer asking me if I the proper permits for our event. She never told me how she got my number. I don't post it online.

She said that I had posted a photo of myself in area last year that wasn't an approved road. I told her it was Forest Road 308 and that we stick to the 300 roads.

She told me I needed a permit to charge money. I told her we were at Prizer Point and not inside LBL and the money covered the cost of pizza and cake.

She told me I needed a permit for more than 60. We had less than 40.

If she had spent more time reading the event page than trying to find my phone number, she could have saved us both time and aggravation.

I did invite her to join us for pizza though.

Myself and some others finally followed @ericbphoto and checked out the grave site of the drummer boy from the revolutionary war.

Then we went to the 1850's working farm and checked that out.

Here's @bobbywalter telling the girl working the farm that the ducks rape the f---ing chickens.

After getting back to camp, one of the members was having issues with his fuel pump.

1000008057.jpg

We removed the bed, @bobbywalter showed him what was wrong with it, cleaned it out, resealed it, reinstalled it, and had the truck running again.

1000008060.jpg

@ericbphoto manned two pizza fires with the help of @Poppa_R as @Uncle Gump prepped more.

Saturday:

Saturday started out with @Poppa_R and @Mrs. Eighty Five making biscuits and gravy for the whole TRS crew.

@snoranger @Robertmangrum.rm @sgtsandman and I set out to explore some 300 series roads which provided some nice technical challenges.

1000008119.jpg

@snoranger got stuck in one of the mudholes. His aftermarket engine skid plate hangs down lower than the stock one and caused the truck to get high centerered. He has a lift at home but didn't have time to install it before the trip.

1000008201.jpg

1000008139.jpg

We also went and checked out the Fort Donnellson civil war site. I just had to park in front of that clean blue Ranger.

Saturday night @ericbphoto announced the winner of the scavenger hunt, and then I did the drawing for the door prizes and we had cake.

Sunday:

Sunday we packed up to go home. @Robertmangrum.rm created a cool way of airing up all of his tires at the same time.

1000008239.jpg

1000008240.jpg

1000008243.jpg

Once we got packed we all parked for a group photo.

1000008263.jpg

I had to stop at a car wash and washed some of the mud off.

1000008271.jpg

1000008273.jpg

The body is mostly clean but there's still a ton of mud in the wheels and underneath.

I finally got to my mom's house up by Cleveland, Ohio around 10:00 pm.

Thanks!

Thanks to everyone that came out and joined us.

It was great sitting back and watching the young guys driving the older generations of Ford Rangers as well as watching the older guys and younger guys interact. We need to teach the younger generations and lead by examples.

Special thanks to:

@ericbphoto for all the work you did on the scavenger hunt. You're a great representative of TRS and a great friend.

@Poppa_R and @Mrs. Eighty Five for making biscuits and gravy again this year.

@Mrs. Eighty Five for taking over the cutting and dispersing of the cake.

@Uncle Gump for getting all of the pizza supplies and prepping the pizzas, and @ericbphoto for supplying the domes to cook them under and slaving over the fire.

@bobbywalter for always being the first one to jump into action to fix a broken truck.

You're all appreciated far more than you know.

Who do I talk to about my stuff maybe being mailed or dropped off if anyone goes through Humphreys county Tennessee
I can mail it to you, but I probably won't do it until I get back home in a week or so.

Sounds to me like she was just fishing to find SOMETHING you would need a permit for, just so they could charge you money or write you a citation.

context.

there was the beginnings of a rape... which spurred the mention.

farm hand recognized the fact ducks are indeed rapey bastards... but these particular style ducks were far less rapey.

facts on the farm.

and....yeah you cant take me anywhere

They are, being short legged and slow moving hinders them. With birds there are not really any rules.
