Testing inertia switch

Question...im heading to the junkyard next week to pull some stuff for my B2.

One thing i need is an inertia switch.

Is there anyway to know if its any good before i buy it?

i can do the ohm meter. What would i be looking for reading wise?

very low readings, like 0-1 it's a dead short between contacts inside.
I'd be more concerned with corroded pins.

Ok.

You know off hand what size the bolts are?

The ones on my ranger are long gone and the ones on rusty #1 are gone as well.

Id like to have this one actually bolted down and i dont wanna take more sockets then needed

I would have to look, on my 2005 it's like 8mm or 5/16 I think.
even the ones on my old Taurus's were small.
a 1/4 inch set should work.

I just checked the NAPA website and Echlin # ECH FPS100 fits just about every vehicle on the planet.
check around, might be many sources for the switch.

Alright.

As far as the bolts it seems 8 or 10 mm were right but i didnt remember for sure

Just looked at that napa one. Its got 3 prongs (mines 2) and is 80 bucks. It would pry work if i cant find a factory one somewhere.
