I was looking for the frame specifications of a 2001 ford ranger xlt double cab, specifically the factory measurements of the frame

I wasn't sure were to put this post but im looking for the factory frame specifications or dimensions or factory measurements of the frame. I am getting my frame measured to see if it is bent. I would like to know the factory measurements of the frame of the truck. Anyone know were to download them. I would like to see a diagram with the measurements listed.
Also whats fixable vs what needs to be replaced

I've been following the bent truck frame but can't really contribute much beyond the basics I already suggested. FWIW when I saw your question, my first thought as to where you'd find that info was "a collision repair shop." It's extremely specialized information that's undoubtedly going to vary between manufacturers of frame repair rigs.

The one thing I thought I'd drop in here is that I watch a couple Youtube channels who are world-class experts in frame repair - one of which is Salvage Rebuilds UK - and I've never heard them mention manuals or spec sheets. They use the methods that have already been suggested, which are careful measurement, triangulation around points of symmetry, etc. You start with what you know is good and makes sense and work from there.

I think you're going to have to pick a collision place you trust and just accept their opinion, then make plans for how you want to approach it. Anyone who's been at that gig for a while is going to be able to give you really useful feedback just by eyeballing it. Once you have 2 experts saying the same thing, it's time to look at what else might be going on. Wish I could offer more than that, but if it were me I'd be under the truck with a tape measure and a piece of string and a plumb bob and taking lots of measurements.

Thank for your reply
My frame is badly bent to were i would need to replace the frame...It has been cut and welded short... I don't even think it was legal to sell the truck that way to me. Im pretty sure that isn't legal in this state, the state of california, So i don't know what to do yet about the truck. Its v8 swapped so maybe someone would want it.

Check with a collision repair shop that has a frame machine, a lot of damage is fixable by an experienced frame guy.

It used to be that Ford bbas would have frame dimensions. But now I think they only go back 10 years... They dont want you to fix, they want you to buy new.
With some searching you might find a site that has the ranger info downloaded already.

Edit; looks like they won't let you see any info unless you join as a business. I didn't look into it too much.

I'm not a lawyer but if you can clearly see that the truck is a cut and shut, document everything you can and research your options. Probably better to spend your time calling lawyers than frame shops. Have you taken pictures of these welds?

I posted a video by the frame inspection auto body shop in upland ca. I posted it in Media under slugstang8997.

That video is helpful but I wish it were a bit more thorough. Even so, there's a lot going on. Is that a coil-over attached to the bed of the truck or am I nuts?

I think it's a shock boot...

I sure wish my truck was that rust free...

I'm not a frame or body guy... but it could likely be fixed by someone with the equipment and knowledge.

If that cut and weld is back by the shocks, you could just get a rear frame section and replace it

Ranger frames are 2 piece and are joined together where the front rear spring hanger is,

All those rivets that hold that front spring hanger on, also hold the front and rear frames together.
