What did YOU do today?

My work has a tire machine and since I had 3 tires with slow leaks, I decided to take advantage. No, I didn't do them while on the clock!...
Dismounted and cleaned the rims and used bead sealer on the rim. The last rim I did had a crack! Aluminum... FML!
Decided I had nothing to lose and v-grooved the crack and filled it with " Cold Steel " 2 part epoxy. Filed it smooth and crossing my fingers...

talked to a guy selling another 1984 318i bmw, identical to the one we bought a few weeks back, but in awesome shape. so we are scheduled to drive 4 or 5 hours up to fort hood, put the car on the trailer, and the engine and trans in the truck bed, and then drive 4 or 5 hours home on saturday.

we are back to having mutliple e30 bmws in the driveway. this new one has 77k miles on it and the one we bought a few weeks ago, from the original owners, had 72k miles on it.

72k mile rough/rusty one will be converted to a carb and become an autocross car till the body gives out. the 77k mile one will become a weekend cruiser and car meet car.

Where do we send the flowers if it doesn’t work?

And you guys were on me about fixing the kitchen chair. Kitchen chair won’t go as fast….,

I’ve been beating and banging and drilling on the trailer for a month, without incident.

Yesterday, I was looking around where the step up is, and a 100 of those nasty little Georgia hornets came out of this hole on the vertical

I ran around the corner of the house, waving my grease rag above my head and screaming like a girl. Lincoln rolled on his back, laughing at me.

I went back out about midnight with some of that long distance hornet spray and hosed it down.

I put my tools away and came in and watched Buffy kill Faith to save Angel…

a few years ago my son had a bald headed hornet nest.
it took about 2 seconds for one hornet to follow the stream of spray back to me.
fortunately I saw it coming and swatted it away just as it hit my face.

the resulting combat included the use of a flaming rag on a 25 foot pole.

Back home we had yellowjackets. Those things were the worst. We unknowingly disturbed a nest once while hunting and they chased my dog and me 1/2 mile. My dad and brother thought that was really funny. Thankfully I haven't seen one since I moved down here.

FL has big red mean-looking hornets but they are actually pretty docile. There are also africanized bees. I hope I never meet up with those. Apparently a few years ago someone in an excavator disturbed a nest/hive at my work and died after the attack.

hate to tell you, but the vertical lip is what gives the barrel it's strength.
no way would I use that wheel. YMMV

Yellow Jackets are just jerks. You don't even have to disturb the nest to get stung. A couple of years back, I was setting up a tent and was apparently to close to their nest for their liking and got stung. The nest was about 15 feet away.

WOW, thanks! I never thought of swatting them away with my face…

You shouldn’t divorce yourself from your dad and brother just because they laughed at you

Yellow jackets are a fact of life down here, but I’m not going to say anything negative this close to Georgia Tech. I definitely prefer them to Bulldogs, but whenever I see either one I shout “Roll Tide!” (Daddy’s alma mater….)

Well since I trimmed the trees at the GF house there were more branches that fell over and needed to be cut so that's done. We decided to get to the bottom of things with the pool... so we drained it down and have been vacuuming and skimming all we could over the last couple days. We can see the bottom at least now. My GF made me take a break from working on the pool to cool down in the A/C. Major noticed I was not feeling good and he came right over and started to lick my face an nuzzle at me.

GF's suv has a hole in the fuel return line so we are going to try to fit her, Major and I in the beer fetcher to head to my place for a couple days. This will be an interesting experience having a Saint Bernard in the front seat with me. Seriously thinking of getting a cap for the truck and I'm in need of taking some measurements of the flat top ones and the raised rear ones. The cap is so Major can be back there when we need to use the beer fetcher and take the three of us. I'm worried that a flat top may not give him enough room to stand up back there.

Finally got everything as good as it’s gonna get for now with the F-150 and as I was finishing up I noticed something super unwelcome…

I cleaned up the pieces for the trailer spare tire racks and started painting.
