Tried any baling wire?

Will this work? It says it will fit a 1984 and I know a 1984 has the same type external slave.

thats all i could find as well but that part is made for a transmission that has a stamped steel slave cylinder mount bolted to the side of the bell housing opposed to a cast in place like mine, besides that looks more like a bushing. i cant imagine that they rely only on the plastic cover to hold this thing in place....that is 40 years old and driy rotted and cracked and i cant find for sale anywhere

well if i was on the rd stranded yes, but after rebuilding an engine wanting to put it into regular service i would like a better plan z if possible before resorting to mcgyver and ductape....tho bailing wire is a nice piece of kit.

Hey man, you gotta do what you gotta do.
My mom was coming in from town once on the old dirt route and the muffler came loose. A neighbor came along as she was untying some baling wire from the bumper to use on the muffler

Have you got any access to old stock at a wrecking yard or something like that?
Man, our wrecking yards are being shipped to China who is using them to build battleships

i would be tempted to bolt on a d 50 unit....but most likely would just make a shim out of some strap and drill two holes to retain it with a 3/16 cotter key.

You can really back yourself in a corner messing with those early trucks. They were oddballs with that 2.8 engine and external slave. Not so much the engine though, I did convert mine over to a mitsubishi 5 speed, and it all bolted to the 2.8 with a internal slave and the different flywheel. I was going to rebuilt the original toyo koyo 5 speed, but that is another odd duck that is hard to find parts for. Once you get into the little bit later trucks, everything smooths out a little bit as far as transmission setups. And they all bolt to the 2.8 with no problems.
