I have a 1989 ford ranger 2.9l 4wd 5 speed and at like 60mph it makes a noise that sounds like plastic rattling in the front end but it’s not plastic. I thought it may be wheel bearings and checked those and they were shot so I replaced them and still having this problem. I believe my front shocks and coil springs are shot but Im wondering if that could have anything to do with it making this noise?
Any help is gratefully appreciated!

Sure its not lifter noise?

I have a major lifter noise but this is as highway speeds and it kinda makes it ride rough.
Not sure what would make it ride rougher thats plastic.

Not that it would affect ride but your plastic on the inner fenders and bedsides aint loose?

Keep poking around, something is loose.
Swaybar end links?
Radiator shroud?
Wiring?

Not sure if you have the 2-piece driveshaft, but one time the washer on the center bearing shook loose and made a pretty good racket until I replaced it. Understand it's not front of truck, but throwing it out there. Happy hunting.

How about the radius arm bushings? Take the nuts and the rear half of the bushing off and have a look.
