TRS Event Ford Ranger 40th Anniversary - Truck Nationals - Carlisle PA

Big rig????

Big rig????

Murphy’s law. I put notes in my registration, and then I actually wrote a separate email referencing my registration. I was crystal clear about what I had, and where I wanted to be, but this is what they sent me. I called & They told me I could change it when I got there. I also have a call in to a higher up. I don’t want to have to be in a traffic jam by the registration desk, with my stupid rig when I get there.

i think it would be pretty funny to see your truck parked over with all the tractor trailers.

Hey, if I didn’t have all you new friends, that’s exactly where I’d be! I’ve got a pretty big set of coconuts!

The Carlisle management called me today and admitted their mistake. But there is the dilemma that they don’t allow any trailers on the show field. However, when I explained that I had stated all this when I registered - that the trailer was part of the show vehicle - the gentleman said to give him a couple days and he’d try to work it out. I had offered at registration and on the phone today to pay for two spaces.

Further, he stated that there were a lot of requests over the last few years for combination vehicles, and that he thought they were going to do it next year. I suggested he officially declare my vehicle and the Ranger Station as the guinea pig for the extended vehicles. He said that might be an idea to cover his butt. Heads up @Jim Oaks, I/we might need a letter. He’s supposed to get back to me on Monday.

After the discussion, I thought about it, and it’s no big deal because the coupler will probably fail and I’ll lose the trailer half way up anyway…

How many blind orphans, nuns, and/or puppies do you anticipate murdering with your death trap?

Hard to say, but I’m putting the whole thing together, in the event of a failure, so it should target those on the left….

…of the road.

If it happens, it will happen on I-85 in Greenville, SC during rush hour. Trust me. That is where and when all accidents happen.

I don't know why they don't do combinations. I can remember years ago seeing trucks at shows with matching trailers made out of truck beds. Now overlanders want to show off their rigs and trailers.

hell yeah big rig........

I’m wondering if @lil_Blue_Ford is behind it. He’ll show up in a big rig with a bunch of macho climbing equipment and I’ll show up in my little Road Ranger with my glue gun for hot glue abuse

I think it's mostly a matter of is there enough room for it in our section? Parking across two spaces might work but I can't guarantee that.

Difficulty of driving full rigs in and out of the Fairgrounds I suppose.

My wardrobe arrived today.
