So how about a couple black bear strolled through this morning…

Seen evidence of them before around here but this is the first we actually saw them. Two, roughly the same size. Only got a clear shot of the second one. I’m guessing 30-50’ away and 2-300# right now. Pretty cool really. That’s my mailbox and 92 Ranger in the background and I was in front of my parents.

That's pretty cool... until it's not cool anymore.

I think my dog would make enough racket it would keep them at bay.

Yeah, thankfully black bear are pretty mild tempered and more curious than anything. They weren’t feeding and they weren’t in a hurry, just kinda passing through. I spoke mostly to try and keep their curiosity at bay. After he turned towards me a couple times I figured I better make sure he knows to just move along.

I was up north this weekend and we took the quads out riding after dark and seen very fresh mom and cub tracks about 1/8 mi from my buddys property where we were camping....

a couple hours after we grilled bratwurst. We rode back into camp very carefully lol

Forgive me, I see only walking sausage, chili, and jerky.

Neat!

I've never seen a wild bear up here.. I've seen plenty of destroyed bird feeders from bears.. but never the bear itself.

"Fun" fact I suppose.. Maine has more black bears than black people lol.

The next door neighbour just got a black bear during the spring hunting season. Supposedly, draw allows for more than one per hunter.

I was way to close to a Grizzly once while MTB riding - we thought it was dust from downhill rider's truck until he stopped to see who was following him. Luckily, bike go downhill fast on forest road.

Thats awesome! I have never seen a bear anywhere but the zoo. They are not anywhere near me. Not like sharks, used to see them all the time while surfing but they aren't interested inbeating people unless you kick them or accidentally hit them with your board while on a wave

I’ve actually seen them a few times out hunting. And I’ve gone for bear before, haven’t got one yet though. Dad did, and it really wasn’t bad eating
