So both transmission mount holes are stripped and im up for suggestions on how to fix it...
im sure there are plenty guys out there that have had this problem... the guy who had the truck before me overtightened the bolts into the aluminum transmission case and stripped them out...

I would install threaded inserts. I'm not sure how much metal is available in that part of the casing. But EZ-lock would be my preference. Helicoil would be my second choice.

Have to drill it, tap it, then install the coils right? I havent had great luck tapping aluminum in the past

Most times I have done it have been in aluminum. Works great. When drilling or tapping aluminum, a thinner cutting oil is usually better. WD-40 works well.

Yes. The general principle is to drill and tap the hole to accept the insert. Helicoilsusually come with a kit that includes the proper size drill and tap. Ez Coils use a more standard tap size. Just read the label for the inserts you are using.

Yeah, tapping aluminum is annoying, but I do agree, even having some tapping oils, they have a tendency to want to bind in aluminum and something like WD-40 or a penetrating oil seems to work better. Be patient with aluminum.

I’m assuming this is for the starter bolts? The regular bellhousing bolts thread to the block. Depending on how things are, you may also be able to use a longer bolt and a nut instead of trying to repair damaged threads. Sometimes you can get away with just stepping up to the next larger bolt instead of a helicoil or the like. Just depends on the situation,

No sir the 2 bolts that attach the transmission mount to the transmission...
The transmission casing is aluminum.

Ahh, don’t mind me, I’m sick and not thinking clearly, lol
