When I see these covers out on the town, they look both perfectly fitting and unique at the same time. If it were solid stripes, it'd be a gawdy super car or ricer thing. I don't see them too awful often and they're always in a "classic" type car, but they're definitely not a rarity. Not sure how they'd match a "modern" car tho.
I'm guessing they originated from horse blankets, but horses got phased out in... what... the 20's or 30's? That's a solid 2 generations ago... an eternity for a style/fad/fashion. Anyone have an idea of the history of this style?
