About once a week I park in a 5-story parking garage. It's an all-concrete structure, I always parkin on the roof.

I'm a windows down kind of guy and I notice, every time we're driving down through the garage I can hear the transmission shifting and fluid flowing noises.

I seldom ever hear such noises, except in that garage where sounds are bouncing off the concrete structure. Let me add, I haven't experienced any transmission issues, slipping, hesitation or anything like that. Truck has 31,300 miles.

Anybody else notice these sounds?

I have not but I don’t remember having mine in a parking garage either.

I think that's the sound of fundamental flaw. The fact that it has to shift up and down so much just driving a parking structure proves my weariness of modern truck drivetrains, made of small boosted engines and 10 speed transmissions. I don't blame them, I blame the emissions laws they must engineer around.

Long story short, new trucks suck.

I guess it wouldn't hurt to check the transmission fluid level and quality if they still provide a dipstick.

Also there are some additives you can try, that actually do work as advertised.

That thing should still be under warranty, and if it is not, then get one asap lol.

There is still a dip stick. A really tiny one on the side of the transmission. I think it's on the passenger side.

Ya know, back in 1993, people said new trucks suck, too. Since you own a 1993, would you today put any value in that comment?

Such is the way of the world.

Haha yes the old "Back in my days"....

What was the golden age of trucks would be a good thread....

I personally think the late 90's/ early 2000's was actually a decent generation of good tech advancements but not too much. Before all the attention went towards self parkng, self driving, EV etc...

80's were the worst lol, especially for cars. Except of course the poster king Lambo Countach.

Golden age? Anything built before 1972, the older, the better.

I haven't noticed any weird sounds but hate the way the trans does in regular D mode. When around town I drive it in sport mode or have began recently hitting the tow mode. In tow mode it doesn't jump around so much and skip gears. Which I'm sure your aware of. I've been back and forth to the hospital lately with my mother in law situation. I will try and pay attention and see if I notice the sounds you discribing next time I'm there in the parking garage. Wished they would have offered a manual in these like the Broncos.

I havnt noticed any, but I havnt driven in a parking garage.

The dancing banana talked about how his truck started making a whooshing fluid noise while shifting after he has his trans flushed.

That is normal. The 6r is really loud.

Godzilla makes all kinds of noises... especially when its cold.

The powerboost sounds like a silon raider in the parking garage....creeping along in electric mode.

I love that truck. My wife is not looking forward to the day we get rid of it...

These new trucks are awesome. There is nothing from the past century that compares.

Save for One thing. Old trucks are easy to fix.
