Whats a Bent Beam lift? Are the hard to build? I have a spare d35 in my parts explorer to build one.

thnx.

its when you bend the ends of your beams up to get the lift you want. look in the tech library for the zimermen build.

at the top of this page click on tech library go down to flexing your ttb on click on the zimmerman build.

yeah thnx. do you think its possible to do relatively simple and cheep? like just cut bend and weld the beams and use longer shocks and coils and longer radius arms with better joints?

It is not simple in that you have to get your measurements just right. This type of lift results in pretty sick stuff if done correctly, if you feel you're up to it and have the tools, go for it. You will probably need to look at your steering geometry when you're done, too.

Man...... I wish ford would have just put a d30 leaf sprung solid axle under RBV's. That would make lifting so much easier!!! guess I won't be doing too much bent beam lifting anytime soon, just too many variables lol

I've done it to my exploder and it's pretty much a science to get it right. On top of doing the cut & turn, you'll need lift springs, custom shock brackets, custom cross member, c-clip eliminator, drop pitman arm, extended radius arms with johnny or heim joints, and some tweaking here & there on the radius arms. If you go this route, I wish you luck!
