Hey guys,

Here is the deal:
3 inch lift
33x10.5r15 mud tires
Drop pitman arm
All new steering components, including all ujoint shaft

Problem is she flots at speed. It just doesnt feel glued to the road. Had it aligned at a good shop, but i am thinking that might still be the problem. Is it just height? Skinny and tall tires? Thoughts?

Here is my steering geometry

I am getting old so 55 is fast enough in a b2 and 65 for me is screeming fast

Taller rudder and better ailerons.

My 88 ranger gave me floaty problems at 55+. New steering box fixed it, along with EPAS conversion. YMMV (literally, in this case) :icon_thumby:

Highly unlikely it is the box.

What type of joints on the shaft?

Do you have the spec sheet from the alignment? The geometry is solid.

Actual toe, caster, and camber... are the critical points if all of the joint and bushings are good.

Sometimes my hat says Gary.

I'm in a very similar boat. 1.5-2" lift, drop arm, 31x10.5r15, felt great prior to lift and align. Now feels extra floaty at speed -unless- I'm in a turn. Feels worse when braking/decelerating.
I have a theory that the castor was set too neutral. My tires rub just a bit while turning, and based on the charts here, shouldn't, so it may be a ridiculous way to try to measure, but I'm imagining the angle of the castor bringing my tires a little too far back.
I've been putting off going back to the alignment shop and asking them to confirm/redo, but I'm worried about steering this thing come winter.
