Ok, technically this is in our galaxy but it is still a pretty good jaunt over to where these things are.

Because of the smoke out west the moon is funny colored when it comes out lately so I broke out my camera (Canon SL3) with "the big lens" (Tamron 18-200) with the tripod and remote to see what I could do.

Ok, took a bunch of pictures of that (which all came out about the same) so I decide it is only midnight, the night is young so lets take some pictures of stars. I find Saturn down to the south which is pretty open as far as trees and buildings not interfering so I start picking on it.

I took some of the ISS and it scooted across the sky.

The thing was moving right along, this was around 3 seconds of bulb (holding the shutter open)

Ok, he gone. So I start trying to take pictures of Jupiter.

Holy crap is that its moons too?! (with progressively less exposure)

This blows my little mind. My stuff is pretty low end, I don't have much experience at this and I am taking pictures of Jupiter's moons and space stations!

9yo me would be so proud...

I REALLY need to get out there this winter when we don't have wildfire smoke, 110% humidity and the better part of a full moon.

Jupiter sucks! All hail Pluto!

Sleepy is better than goofy

Saturn is clearly the one to "hail", it's the only planet that has Championship Ring's. Not counting Earth's ring of space trash. (of course)

The rings around Uranus are just ringworm...

Those are some great pictures, thanks for sharing :)

Pluto IS a planet, it has 5 moons
Mercury and Venus have no moons so should just be classified as planet-like.

Gotta have a moon to be someone in this solar system, thats just the way it is, sorry Mercury and Venus

Are you saying we should start a public works project to help under privileged planets? Bookmark a percentage of NASA's budget to provide moons to Mercury and Venus, to help give them a leg up in the solar system?

No. We should find them low income housing in another solar system so they don't bring the property value down around here!

Well I don't know about that, Earth is "moon poor"
Even Mars has 2

We fit right in as the bottom of the low moon planets, at least we can point at Mercury and Venus and say "well we have one moon"m, if they were gone..................well, we would be NEXT, lol
So we are poor just not dirt poor

Our moon is made of dirt. So, if we don’t have enough of them, I Guess we’re dirt poor.
