I just might buy a boat

Then it's broken! You go out there right now and cross out MPH and write Knots on it!

But knots are used to stop boats from leaving the slip!?!?

Use a granny knot, you leave when you want...
And sometimes when you don't.

I must be one of those that wouldn't be without a small boat. My 16' welded aluminum boat has helped me catch more salmon and Dungeness Crab than I can count. That little 15hp Yamaha 4 stroke sips gas and doesn't break the bank to maintain. Wow, I never knew Jet Skis were such gas hogs. I wish I had a galvanized trailer though, the saltwater is killing it

You have crabs...

You have crabs...

Yes I do, but you definitely don't want one of those in your pants  or you would be saying 'It may not be long but it's gone'

Just got back from taking my boat out for the first big trip, camping for 5 nights, took the boat out 4 of those days and other than just the normal stuff I knew it needed we went through 35 gallons of gas at nearly $6 a gallon (only other marina on the lake was over $7...) and the V belt on the front of the 351 is TOAST, so there's another $6 :). Boat did good, being a big body of water I got a little more adventurous with seeing how the hull handles things... being a jet boat with a fairly flat bottom it slaps pretty good on wakes, with 2 people it will flat spin decent at WOT, not with 4 people, so it's fairly safe to screw around... I didn't want a fiberglass pretty boat, I wanted aluminum and something that wasn't pretty, but jet boats are stupid expensive to get into, I was outside my comfort zone but I can't go too backward for what I have in it...

Ok a question.... why aren't personal watercraft called boatercycles?

AJ

No, that's another name for a boat, killjoy :)

As said, 2 best days are when you buy one and when you sell one
Was "a boater" for many years, liked it until I didn't, lol
Now I just fix'em for friends and then go for rides

Friends with boats are like grandkids, you get to enjoy the fun stuff then "walk away", lol
Took me awhile to learn that

One day I will own one of these...

I'm so friggin sick of hurricanes ruining perfectly good days of fishing.

47 feet, Unsinkable, self fighting, twin Detroit diesel engines and capable of continued operation in 30 foot waves. Add a bunch of rod holders and a livewell and it's good to go.

In PA you have to have a boating license to operate a personal watercraft but you don’t need one to operate a boat.
