The Ford Maverick is coming June 8th

The current "mid sized" trucks are as large as I'd want to go. I don't think the Maverick bed will be big enough. Which will mean less payload.

Remember this? This Maverick would need to have some clever ideas.

Had a Chevrolet Avalanche before. Great set up, but a pig on fuel (at the time I was doing a lot of highway driving).

Working downtown I've been allowed to sneak my small Rangers into a lot of hidden spots at loading docks and garages for free parking right at the jobsite over the years when the guys with big vans, full size 4x4 trucks, etc.. had to park blocks away on the street.

The new full size trucks won't even fit into a lot of garages stock. I think there will be a definite market for these in the trades in cities. Every jobsite I go to is crawling with old tacomas and rangers.

You could always get a fiesta! Fiesta fits anywhere!

I read it was based on the escape.. which I guess is more of a crossover than a true suv but still
The Escape is a Focus. Guys are always bitching on the Escape sites that they can’t get lift kits for it because it is just the AWD station wagon version of the Focus. That being said, my wife loves her Escape with the 2.0 Ecoboost. It’s a rocket and gets great mileage.

Why would anyone even want to lift an escape?

There are people who abuse the crap out of those things and then wonder why they aren’t trouble free. People are dumb shits. I don’t blame them. I blame my generation for raising a bunch of dipshits.

I wonder what the lift consists of for the new Bronco Sport?

I know Ford had a small lift for them.

Maybe the Escape folks can use that...

I know for my 2011 escape you can get a “leveling kit” spacer block that goes between the top of the front strut & the body, I got a 1-1/2” one but need a strut spring compressor tool to put them in. Im not sure if the current gen escape (2013 & up) has them available or not.

I found this on a maverick forum... this is what they think it will roughly be dimension wise.

Over all Length appears to be roughly 195” Long. Wheel base roughly 114”. Height roughly 70”. Width roughly 74”. Track width roughly 63”. Ground clearance roughly 7.5-9” Bed size roughly 54” Long, 54” Wide 40” between wheels. 15” tall. Curb weight roughly 3600-3900lbs.

That sounds pretty useful to me if you're looking for something closer to the original ranger size and ability. Not for off road, obviously. But as an inexpensive vehicle that can handle typical small projects, etc it would be just fine.
