TRS 2021 Fall Off-Road Round-Up

I bet you wondered where "Twisted Sisters" got its name...

it probably went down something like this:
some dude named Dee Snyder was sitting around smoking some good stuff in the late 70's and after a few puffs said: "hey, lets start a heavymetal band... "

and another said "Yeah! I wanna ROCK!:

and then another said "dude, You are stoned and kind of look like a male version of my sister."

and Dee said, "We're not gonna take it!"

and thought... Hmmm... an all guy metal group named "Twisted Sister"...

I see what you did there.

I plan on buying one for the 2011 but the 2019 still needs radios. If I win one (not holding my breath), it’s still a useful win!

Twisted Sister. Not a lot of lyrics to their songs. Just repeat the same thing over and over to music.

Really good hamburgers though.

Aaah dee Snyder.

Eff tipper gore.

Got some time this weekend and installed my Midland mxt115 radio. Ended up putting it on the dash and splicing power from the cb which is mounted to the left of the glovebox.. Get about 4 miles to a handheld FRS radio over farmland and woods. Signal drops off pretty good when going into a river valley. Overall I'm pretty impressed. I might play with a slightly bigger antenna and see if my results improve.

ready to go hopefully

Is anyone using a mount for the these in ax19+ Ranger? Seems like I'm always searching for the walkie talkie on the trails.

I haven’t found any universal ones yet. I have one for my Baofeng UV-5R made by Rugged Radio. It is very specific to the Baofeng. My TYT 980’s belt clip is too wide for the notch provided.

There is enough material that the slot can be widened and made to work. That might be a direction you want to go. They call it the MT-5R.

Wear a shirt with a big pocket on the chest.

And i don't have a fanny pack... it's a sling bag damn it!

I also just bought a new pair of Crocs.... my attack dog thinks my 20 year old pair are his. He sharpens his teeth on them now.

And.... just for good measure...

I might try and make it this year with the jeep.

Turns out I shouldn't have gone on that motorcycle trip last year, ended up with a nice sized internal degloving injury on my knee after going down on one of the trails.
