I am going to start swapping a 5.0L from a 2000 mountaineer into my 1999 Mazda B series with a 3.0L. But I have no blacktop or concrete to do this on and need a cherry picker that can go on gravel or dirt. Can anyone help me with this problem?

2 pieces of thick plywood. Just lay them down where you need to put the hoist and roll it along moving one piece in front of the other. Done it many times on gravel driveways.

I had the same problem last year when I changed my engine. I fixed the problem by bolting larger wheels on my cherry picker.

The picture should be self explanatory. I hope this helps. The trailer Dolly allowed me to move the hoist with my quad.

I've done the plywood thing as well. But @Shadowrider6661 cherry picker would certainly add some fun to the job. (pushing the hoist around making revving engine sounds and burn outs in dirt just like the "dukes of hazard". :D)

Could also build an A frame to hang a chair fall from, roll the trucks in and out from under it.

Have a tractor with a 3-point? put a boom on it and use that.

Strong friends? Pick it up and pack it. LOL.

Weld a piece of 2” square stock onto the engine hoist. Slide it into your trucks receiver and run some ratchet straps to the front of the bed similar to this:

Back up to the vehicle, pull the engine, then drive away with it.

I LIKE that idea!(y)
