New to the forum! Hi folks I need help!

That's what I was thinking to. Man I hope that it's just a different pcm and not the whole harness because every other plug fits my truck fine. When I looked it up it didn't say if the prong settings were the same amount and shape just that the shape of the box itself is the same
Could be remanufactured, like Sheepherder said. Otherwise, the differences between a 1991 OBD1 pcm and a 2003 OBD2 pcm are great. This is what the connectors would look like. The difference between about 60 pins and 104 pins. (These are for different engines, but you get the idea)

F0AF-14A459-AA is the part number for that ecu. I did a quick search, and it looks like it is for EEC-IV. So not 2003.

Edit: this does not mean it’s for your truck.
That's the number molded in the plastic under the pink printing in his picture.

Connector is the same shape and has the same number of pins. Its the circuit and programming inside that changes for different engines.

Okay, where would I look to get a good picture of the pin diagram for a 1991 Ford ranger sport 4.0 like the ones you sent pics of? I tried googling it and no help.

By the way, thanks a bunch for all the help! I know it's Christmas Eve and I'm taking up your time and I am very much appreciative!

That comes from the EVTM (electrical vacuum troubleshooting manual). You can usually find a copy on eBay, either in print or on cd. It contains electrical and vacuum diagrams for all the circuits in your truck, plus component locations, connector locations and pinouts, descriptions of how circuits work and more.
