Utility and being self-sufficient. Sometimes you get chosen to be the one that moves things though! Ha.

Been using mine to clear out my parents' house for the last several months. They have so much stuff. *groans*

Going to use mine to pull our pop-up camper the next 3 weeks.

Ordered a bunch of gaskets from Summit for the new engine build. Still waiting for the rearend to come back from my buddy Jeff who swapped in my new 4.88 gears and put my old 4.30s in his Mustang. No $$ changed hands so a win/win for both of us.

Made a lumber run to Lowes with the 2011. Made use of the roof rack as well.

I finished my long travel 4x4 suspension install yesterday and rolled it out of my driveway. Then today I finished my 4.0 OHV long block. Who knows what will happen tomorrow?

What do you think of the exhaust wrap? Does it work as well as it is reputed to work? I don't have anything with headers, so it's more out of curiosity than necessity to know.

Honestly, my main motivation for using it was that I like how it looks.

But on the functionality note, I think of it as something more to protect the components around the exhaust. I've seen headers on built engines glowing purple at idle. I wouldn't want my fuel lines, brake lines, wire harnesses, or even floorboards subjected to that type of heat. Much less floorin it up a sand dune or a steep grade.

It also helps your EGTs reach OT, so, if that's important to you. With open headers or just a Y-pipe this would be a concern.

It also is basically fiberglass so wear gloves when handling. I learned the hard way.

This is what it looked like in 2019;
After I'd rolled it twice and drove it 3 hours home

she's a minty ol' beast. I drove it like this from March to January and never got pulled over. After the first 2 weeks I cut out the windshield, too much glass in my face. They CANNOT be kicked out like in movies and video games.

And today

1 2wd doner cab later

Put the snow tires on and have kids mom coming tomorrow to carry the sand buckets up and put them in the bed tomorrow. Winter weather has already hit my area and living on a hill getting it done before the roads get covered is a requirement. We've already had 2 snow falls of 2+ inches but luckily the roads are still warm enough that it didn't require salt/sand on the hill.

Wore shorts and a short sleeve T Shirt to mow the lawn today. Worked up a pretty good sweat. Grew up on the shore of Lake Erie but I like it much better here.

Been almost 70 here, hope it stays a few more days, had a fuel line leak on the hhr, I had noticed it didnt like to start right up anymore and I could smell fuel. Noticed leak on garage floor and just thought it was a vapor or return line, nope its the pressure line, and it was leaking fuel on to the exhaust pipe. Have parts on the way, been driving the ranger to work, It hadnt got much use lately so it was good to get it out and drive it, once winter decides to kick in I will want the car though, much better heater. If we get much snow though I will get the ranger back out though, the hhr having a twisted chassis from last seasons roll into a feild really makes it not a good bad weather vehicle. You can park in the yard, move it a few hours later and see that there is more weight on one front tire than the other. Have the blade, chains & wieghts on the ‘deere mower. Dont really need it but since it came with it when I bought it I want to play with it in the snow some.

nicked a brake line cutting exhaust, front pass. side. degreased engine bay

Mowed lawn yesterday, truck watched I'm sure ;)

Winter weight is strapped into the truck. I had forgotten how much better the truck rides with around 150 lbs back by the tail gate. Tomorrow will be testing the 3rd brake light and adding a resistor if needed.
