2016 Yamaha Wolverine


Turbo???? (Trying to find info on a kit.)

Last summer in Biglerville I saw an 8hp Kholer with a turbo in it. You can figure this out.

Yes, I can make it happen, but...
It’s 47 HP single cylinder. The 1000 is 108 HP 2cyl. I’d much rather start with 108HP and build from there.
The 1000 comes stock on 30’s... if I swap the portals onto that, I can probably run somewhere between 35s to 37s.

My Ranger had 110hp new, with enough blow by to push the dipstick out it could still clean 30” MT’s.

You can go bigger...

I just bought 28" mega mayhems for the kodiak. They'll be on just in time for our weekend ride. Its unfortunate though that Maines been in a big fat drought all summer and mud is hard to find 😑

Does that thing have Yamahas dumb wet clutch setup?

Once I get the rear offset control, I’ll remove the 2” lift or get 32’s. That should solve that issue. I got the front offset control arms today.
There’s a 30% gear reduction in the portals. I chose that over the 15% so I didn’t have to do clutch work. I may slug the wet clutch later on, but it feels like it’s fully engaged my 2-3 mph in low and 5mph in high...so I don’t think I need it at this power level.
I have a JBS sheave, OD weights, and 1.5mm shim on my Grizzly 550.... it helped quite a bit. I’m putting the 28” Bear Claws off this onto the Grizzly, the clutch work should help turn them. If that doesn’t help, I’ve got everything to convert the 550 to a 686 with 10.5:1 compression... that should help.
What year is your Kodiac?

What’s your issue with the wet clutch? It works great if you leave everything stock. If you start trying to turn tires that are too big, you need to slug it.
