What did you do to your Ranger today? (Part Deux!)

I always wondered if Plano boxes were made in Plano...

Without Plano... there wouldn't be Plano... if that makes sense.

@The KGB, we have a member that needs re-educated here!!

Interesting fact... besides Plano being real... It is also Smallville in the Superman movie.

My truck also got a new nick name... she was always Bird Dog 1... forever after today she is the MUTT. Those boxes were a sign... I swear.

I also figured out my lantern hook... a couple 7/16 nuts welded on work rather well

What is your hook made out of?

Until I was there and driving by it for some reason I always thought it was made in Texas...

And to stay on topic I waxed my truck tonight.

It's just square bar steel... seems they stamped a pattern on it.

I figured it was something decorative, I didn't know if it was a factory made hook or if you had textured it.

It almost looks like a rawhide dog chew in the picture. :icon_twisted:

I bought it at a garage sale years ago. I use to clamp it to a picnic table for my lantern. The clamp had seen it's better days...

ordered a tach & inductive pickup through summit. “equuis” brand. Looks like a “sun” guage, maybe it is under a new name. Ive tried 2 diffrent tachs before that didnt work, was considering a tach for diesel application (uses the alternator) but thought why not a inductive pickup like timing lights & digital test tachs have? Guess I’ll see how it does, would be nice to see what rpm im running, esp since I run different tire sizes in winter vs summer.

You do realize you can put a '92.5 to '94 cluster with tach in, right? I did it to my '90, works great, the stock speedo drops right in so you don't lose anything... I NEED to do that on my '97, seems about as easy, I even have a '97 Mountaineer in the back yard to steal it from, but need to look a little deeper...

yes, but Ive been unable to find one. “oldest” vehicles in junkyard are ‘96 models, Ive only ever found one ‘94 and it had the non-tach cluster like mine.

The original discussion has disappeared. IDK.

We need some positive news. What did you do to your Ranger taday?
Fuel lines are being replaced. Got that project under way. Thinking about sandblasting the rear frame with the bed now removed. New shocks would be easy to install to. Fuel tank straps as well.

Why are you still quoting Jim....

And so, my fellow Americans: ask not what your country can do for you — ask what you can do for your country.

My fellow citizens of the world: ask not what America will do for you, but what together we can do for the freedom of man.
and why did I quote JFK?
