Its a USB cord. you try to plug it in, turn it 180 degrees and make another try. after that fails, you turn it 180 degrees again and plug it in. Fairly simple.
Then report to us how well your solder job held up.

Turn it off, then turn it back on again. That should fix whatever you don't understand.
