What did you do to your Ranger today? (Part Deux!)

You gotta love Craigslist. I needed some bricks to build a small storage area for trash cans and the like. Guy tearing up his sidewalk to redo it.
As many people have mentioned the trucks sure ride better with a load in them.

I have a giant pile of bricks in my yard from a chimney I removed. If you are looking for more bricks.

Lol

Ewwwwww used bricks? Gross. :bad:

Damn. I was hoping those were giant Pez candies. :(

Drove the 2019 to Stroudsburg on Saturday and back Sunday. Did the 91 octane experiment driving to and back. I didn’t notice any difference in performance but I wasn’t hauling a load or towing and was running slick ( no roof racks or anything sticking up in the air stream). There was about a 2-3 mpg improvement but not enough of a gain to warrant the extra $0.57 a gallon.

I also slept in the bed over night. Not bad with the fiberglass cap but the 5 foot bed leaves a bit of something desired when it comes to enough leg space.

We’re discussing that in a different thread.

You say the word and I'll fetch the hack saw!

Ha ha! Good enough for in a pinch but the 2011 is a better option for an over night somewhere.

Mostly setup and ready for camp.

looks good, but ouch! im 5’5” and that bed looks way too short to sleep in. My 7’ bed has a tool box in the bed and I have just enough room. Im using a air mattress the next time I do that though, last sept I had plywood panels with foam and carpet, thought it would be fine, was far from it. She drove most of the way back home from southington.

I used a self inflating sleeping pad. It was comfortable enough minus the leg room. Spending 33+ years in the military and working the confined space of fuel tanks, one adapts to their situation in order to get sleep. As long as I can lay down, I’m pretty much good.

I seem to remember camping when it was much simpler. There were several times I wish I had a trailer to haul ALL the stuff.

Do you have a cook box in there somewhere? I'm kinda looking for ideas for mine. I've seen some pretty cool ones over the years...

I'm seriously trying to do the minimalist approach and still have everything I need... it's no easy task.

I'll have to try to remember to take a picture after the camp has been setup. I do have a cook box of sorts. It contains a cast iron pan, 8 qt Dutch oven and 2 qt (I think) dutch oven, a metal rack to set the cookware or it's lid on, a steel handle manipulate the hot lid or dutch oven, leather oven mitt, hot pad, dish towels and wash cloths, scrubbing sponge, cooking oil, and a rubber maid container with salt, pepper, and season all.

The equipment is setup in different containers. Four wheeled gorilla trucks, four hand built crates very similar to ammo crates, the "cook box", a box for the kerosene lanterns, a plastic container for three of the sleeping bags in compression sacks and a hammock, and two 54 qt Steel belted Coleman coolers. That's the short item list. I can break it down further if you like. Short of clothing, maybe one more cooler, firewood, and dry good foods, the entire camp for up to six people is enclosed in that 4'X8' trailer. The rest goes in the back of the tow vehicle.

This is my camp setup... :icon_rofl:

At least you'll be comfy while it rains....
