What did you do to your Ranger today? (Part Deux!)

Front calipers, new flex lines and new hard lines from master cyl forward. Been awhile since ive had my flaring kit out. Glad I remembered my own tip on taping the line nuts on before I make a flare. My small pipe cutter was seized so I had to go out and get a new one, must of had brake fluid on it when I had it out last (3 years ago?) Still need to bleed the brakes, need to read up on where to start. Im thinking drivers side, Its been awhile since Ive done a complete front end.

I used mine for a grocery getter today. Pretty soon, I'm gonna have to use it as a garbage truck again.

Why... come on... now... hey... no... no.... stop that...

You think now your brakes are superman? BAD! BAD! RASCAN!

Go stand in the corner and think about what you've done.

so if I paint over the red/blue with black they will be “batman” ?

The calipers came powdercoated red, They came as a set and from what it looked like, it was $30 for the set, I thought it was a decent deal considering stock calipers are usually around $20. When I got the invoice I saw it was $60. Why in hell would they be priced individualy when they are sold as a set? And it seems damn stupid that banjo bolts (flex hose to caliper drilled bolt) are not included. I got new copper washers with both calipers and flex lines, but no new banjo bolts at all. I could re-use them , but everything else is new now, including the retaining slider pins.
I did paint the backside of the outboard pads blue, will see how long that lasts with braking heat , I dont expect the powdercoat red to hold up, had powdercoated tube steps on the ‘93 and it peeled off like onion husk after the first winter.
Now im thinking I should pull the back tires and paint the drums red. May as well, been off nearly 2 months now and have just about everything done & caught up with that I wanted to do.

That's, that's, that's, well, just sacrilege !!!
Isn't disfiguring an icon against the law ?

Would it hold up better if you use the paint for BBQ grills?

most likely, the calipers came powdercoated red, im curious to see how long they will last. Normally if I paint brake parts I go with flat black or a metallic grey that looks like new cast iron. I did paint the back drums red today, can barely see them.

Already had the engine, convertor and transmission and I wanted a small truck to race but didn't like the Chevy S10s or any of the imports so I built an an F10....... Plus IMO the Ranger is built waaay tougher

I don’t have an issue with the engine swap... just the emblem.

I agree.

GM vehicles are junk. Their pushrod V8s are incredibly good engines. As much as I despise GM, credit where credit is due. (y)

Let 'em hate. If I ever Hemi swap a RBV, its getting a Ram's head precisely where your bowtie is. (y)

I filled it with corn.
