Pj has a point about FI.... powerdyne centrifugal superchargers have been a thing since the early 80's I believe and was a dealer option for mustangs in 91 so its possible he did it first to a Ranger.

I would like to see more engine bay pictures also maybe there where some other modifications made to the air intake ect...

I emailed Kenny Brown Performance maybe they are still in contact with the old Shotgun custom guys. I dont know if its the same company any more or not Hotrod shops come and go or rebrand over time but who knows maybe I will get something.

Yeah I have a nice 4r70w 5.0 swap in store for it. Interior is gutted waiting weatherstripping and window seals. View attachment 45096
What transmission is in this truck right now? That doesn't look like a factory auto or manual transmission floor covering that I have seen. But I could be wrong.

Whats going on with the extra heat sinks on the valve covers, braces on the exhaust manifolds, and extra fuel pressure regulator?

Just for posterity sake, could you post a photo of the codes on the labels on your pcm? They did some work to the engine that almost looks like FI prep...
Here’s shots pf the PCM and the door calibration code.

Thanks for reaching out, much appreciated.
Here’s a couple more shots of the engine. I removed the intake but appeared identical to a ‘91 2.9 2wd stocker up the street; couple shots of it set in place.

Something smells like it's burning... you OK PJ?

Could those louvered things on the valve covers be some fancy ignition wire looms?
These things do look bizarre

Hold me I'm scared.

That is NOT a stock 2.9.... don't swap yet. Doing research. You have something there.

Get back in your cage!

Calling all Mafia... come in Mafia.

Take a valve cover off... have us a peek in there.

I see a part number on the intake... or a partial... take pictures.

There is something going on there... someone spent some time.

Now you're getting it! :geek:

The truck is cool either way. :icon_thumby::icon_thumby:
