What did you do to your Ranger today? (Part Deux!)

So far I got my WASTED Aussie locker out of the 8.8 in the back of the '90 and have it mostly cleaned up and ready for the Yukon Grizzly to go in... I forgot how fun it was to get the C clip out of a lunchbox locker, I say singular because the first one is a doozie, second one just falls out after half the locker is removed.

The Aussie served me well, but once it decided to stop working it was done and shed metal QUICK, the magnets I had in the diff cover were covered in slivers not just powder like the last time I had it off...

Scrapped my old 98 I was planning on fabbing a cheapo long travel front end for. With mudruns canceled for the foreseeable future id rather have the space in the yard.

Took it and kid fishing today. We also lubed the door hinges tailgate cable hinges and driver seatbelt. Darn seatbelt squeaks when I hit a bump and turn my head so it gets annoying quickly.

I figured I'd teach kid how to properly install the summer tires on the truck and to my astonishment she said she wanted to do it. Well that new impact I bought, I still haven't used it because kid did the whole job except sliding the rim on the lugs on the driver side because she had issues doing it. Tire was a bit heavy for an 11 yr old. I taught her about the torque wrench how to set it and how to use it. She did well except the second tire she got a bit bouncy on the wrench and I needed to explain why you use a smooth motion with it. But kid put the summer tires on he truck. I'm a proud dad today.

Soon...

Refueled it , went to Lowes (along with everybody else it seemed like ) and got 4 1x4x8 to finish new shed doors . :headbang:

Doors keep idiots out...

Idiots ALWAYS find a way out...

Put a new bumper on my truck :) it looks so much better than my previous bumper

Finished getting the Yukon Grizzly in the Ranger but found a leaking axle seal and while straightening the backing plate I broke a parking brake shoe so it won't sit on it's tires until tomorrow...

Just got gifts from the UPS man...

These AOR folks sure do some nice work...

Registered the truck today, found the glove box light sticking and a dead battery, disconnected the light, charged the battery and took it for it's first road test with the 351 and C4. Trans acts sluggish and I suspect the governor stuck, not surprising for a C4. It goes pretty good but I already regret using the stock 95 F150 cam. Very pleased that it only has minor driveline vibration considering all the parts I fabricated, transmission cross member with Mustang II mount and 8" Mustang II rear axle mounted on top of the leaf springs. Making progress.

Did you wrap the valve body in a cloth and beat it against the concrete a few times? It's been years since I messed with a C4, but that was basically a requirement of a rebuild back then. LOL
