So maybe instead of ebrake Lever in the middle like drifters, I could flip this switch and line lock my brakes?

The line lock does not apply pressure to the system. It only holds pressure after you apply it with the foot pedal. Not quite as useful for drifting.

So the consensus is it's a line lock controller, probably for drag racing. And in order to use it, I need to wire the switches back to it. Was really hoping it was for towing. This ranger is v6 and class 3 hitch receiver. Would like a 26 ft trailer but I can settle for 20 I suppose. Thanks again guys, always a great place for q and a

Not sure what the switches would have to do with trailer brakes. You need a trailer brake controller for that. It does some kind of magic that sends electrical signals to the parked system on the trailer. There’s not much you can do with toggle switches and relays to safely replicate that.

Misunderstood. I didn't think the switches had the part any more like fogs or something. Was hoping the mico was for trailer brakes. I do have the trailer controller wrapped around the bumper. So I was hoping it had something to do with towing. Ive heard of "tow package" on some trucks and the hitch is distributed and welded. Maybe this truck has a tow package and the mico was part of it. Was my original thought...

You want to tow a 26' trailer with a ranger? That's fine if you have a 2019 or 2020 but I wouldn't recommend towing a trailer that big with a ranger.... Yeah it might pull it ok but could you stop it in time? If it's tongue heavy you wont have good steering.... Rangers aren't made for towing big trailers.... Don't be the idiot who kills someone because you think your truck can do it.... There's other lives on the road other than your own and they might not know or care that you can't stop on a dime, just keep that in mind.

The tow package was nothing more than a hitch and a button to take off overdrive..... trailer brake controllers look like a radar detector with a few buttons and normally a wheel or + and - symbols to adjust the brakes and normally mounted near the steering wheel or the dash for easy reach.... No rangers came with a plug-n-play brake controller so it would have to be hard wired into your truck..... I'm scared to ask but what are you wanting to tow?

I will be towing a travel trailer, possibly 5th wheel. Ive read a lot. I know there's big difference so let's go with trailer. I found 3 thousand lbs is my Max because that's 300lbs tongue weight. At least that's when I thought this was the 4cyl. So think 20ft will end up being the heaviest I could pull

If so, that is a Mico Dual Cable Lock... It’s a cable operated baking brake system. See the cable in the center? There’s a stop light switch against the linkage. (Where the white wire is attached.) That is supposed to be wired in with the low pressure sensors on either end, to sound an alarm when the system is active, but the pressure drops.
It is NOT electrically activated.

But if it's not electric, why dose my engien not start if its not connected to the battery? There was no metal holding it on. I just fixed it but before it was twisted around the terminal bolt and when the connection was weak my engien shorts out after I try to start. Acc come on and I get lights, but it clicks real loud when it shorts and I have to restart the electric system.....?

The single loud click followed by no electric power is a weak connection in one of the battery cables.

An engine is a mechanical component and by definition cannot "short out" as that is a purely electrical concern.

The Mico white wire is the weak terminal connection. When I turn key to start I get the click and have to take off red cable adjust the white wire and try again. Until I got the proper piece to get a solid connection
