Coronavirus

I just don't drink coffee...

That's good, that stuff will kill you...

Had the first confirmed case at work this weekend. Wonder what that will lead to.

Walmart is going to be closing at 11pm to clean the store and restock. This sucks. Now I have to go in to a crowded store instead of running in at night when it's not busy to avoid people.

I feel like there will be a line at the door every morning, and people will be running to the toilet paper isle.
Exactly.... I stopped there Friday night on my way home from work (technically Saturday morning at 1am). There were about 20 people in the store, most of them were employees.

A friend of mine works for Faulkner Auto Group. One tech working near Philly tested positive and that whole dealership is shut down. The rest are now on rotating shifts working either MWF or TThS 7:30-6:30, all staffing groups. That way if any one person tests positive is doesn't close the whole dealership, hopefully.

I'm not sure what would happen at my place, we are too small to try operating like that.

I bought a 24 pack of toilet paper today. I didn't need that much, but it was the only size they had. I was lucky to get it. So stupid to be happy about finding toilet paper in a store.

I saw a couple leave with (6) of those 24-packs in their cart. I wanted to punch them in the head. Why do you need 144 rolls of toilet paper?

Perhaps they grabbed some for their parents/children? Wishful thinking though. I probably would of called them out.

Wife and I went through dozens n dozens of hurricanes in south Fla over 40 years, and we learned long ago to prepare long before an event.
Wife (a nurse of 40 years) had a feeling back in January when the administration started poo-pooing the virus, and thats when we stocked up.

The kicker with the virus is that it takes so long for symptoms to show. They are starting to separate our work force as well to minimize exposure as well. I think there might be more to it than that but that is the story we are being given.

The problem is that so many people poo-poo the whole idea of prepping for disasters in the first place. Hurricanes, floods, and what not happen all the time. You don't have to be a nut case to stock up on some items just in case something happens. It should be an on going thing, not just before disaster strikes.

They have now went as far in Illinois to shut down all bars and dine in restaurant until the end of the month. Drive thru... carry out... and curb service only.

I suppose my delivery and carry out will see and big increase in volume. If it goes anything like I think it might... I will be put of food to make by mid week.

Agree with you 1000%. Minimum of a 3 day supply of food, water, and sanitary supplies should be in every house for each person. During hurricane Sandy we lost power for a week. Many roads closed, stores closed, it was a mess. We were fine. My father is an ex army combat engineer from veitnam growing up he was messed up in the head but always kept us prepped. Sandy was nothing to us. We had extended family panicking that we had to take in just because they didnt understand how to take a shower with no power... I have minumum of 30 days worth of supplies for me and my mom and dad to just sit in the basement full blown nuclear disaster style...

Im not saying this is hide in the basement time. Even I've been out and about and im afraid to death of people already. But the average American should be prepared to survive in their home lax government for at least 3 days.

If you dont have a survival kit, your just complacent and gonna be the first to be eaten. I also believe every sensible adult American should own a gun for the same reason. And im not a Republican and i endorse this message.

Maybe they heat with it or it's part of their high fiber diet.

If you eat toilet paper does that mean you need to use less of it on the back end?

Baby wipes were wiped out at Wally World last night. We are good on it (we order dry bulk and make our own and still have a good stash) but just observed that.

Formula had taken a big hit, we were able to snag an extra in the correct flavor if we do get stuck at home though.
