Random junkyard finds

They're pretty proud of that NOS console...

My most unique junkyard finds were not vehicles or parts and cannot be posted on this forum...

Some of the more PG rated finds were a fake human heart in a pickle jar, a prosthetic leg, a briefcase full of wigs, quite a few guns, a taxidermied turtle, and an bunch of I.V bags of ringers solution.

On the eBay consoles, the red one is for the Ranger, the tan one is for the Bronco II:

That Ranger console is cool, definitely a product of the late '70's to early '80's.

That Ranger console is so quirky yet at the same time I want it for my GT as it has factory buckets.
Wonder what the patch harness looks like and where it connects to for the display & if a later 1st gen can be hooked up without hacking wires...

Not quite as rare (I have 1.5 of them) is the overhead maplight/clock. They make a different bezel for a steel roof truck (the ceiling contour is different, I have seen one in a truck on ebay) and I would like to sneak up on one of those someday too.

@85_Ranger4x4

Thanks! I like that those diagrams also include the years. Do you have any for the consoles used in other years?

Have any more pics @RobbieD

I want to incorporate this information in to:

They ran this one more or less until '11 I think. They played with the cupholders and armrest padding/cover, my book only goes to '89.

For what it is worth first gen Explorers had the side by side cupholders like what you call "1995-2001 Ford Explorer Short Center Console". I pulled one out of a Limited (I want to say it was a '93) and I know mom's '94 had one. We got it in '96 so I doubt it was messed with.

Not really a console but the touchdrive thing could be made into an OHC:

Pretty neat. I'll have to snag one if I see one and sell it since they are gold plated apparently. NOS is always iffy IMO. You can ask whatever you want for something but what you actually get is a different story.... It's not what's it worth, it's what you can get for it.

@Jim Oaks Jim, I grabbed the following pictures on the quick, which I've photographed from my own lit collection (images are not "borrowed" off the internet).

I found no console images in the 1983 brochures that I have. I haven't looked in the Marketing Manual.

What I do have here:
1984 Ford Trucks sales brochure, small image of blue interior.
1984 Accessories brochure, page 14 showing the Bronco II and Ranger consoles (lamp warning).
1984 Accessories brochure, page 13 showing the Ranger overhead console (clock).
1985 Ranger sales brochure, full page 8 showing interior in red.
1984 EVTM page 69 showing the lamps warning wiring (may be of interest to people adding a console).

Holler at me if you need anything else. I could do scans of these, but it would have to be later.

I need one of those overhead map light/ clock consoles! So cool

I think we need to all go through @PetroleumJunkie412 parts bunker...

What else you hiding in there?

Can you imagine doing a super bright led conversion on those map lights?
