Having problems getting the correct allowable connecting rod bearing clearances for my 99 Ranger 4.0L OHV, don't know if that makes a difference. The VIN is X. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Are you just trying to replace std. rod bearings?

Was there any machine work done?

Did you measure the rod journal?

I haven't done anything yet. I just want to know clearances so when I measure I know if I need under size or not. I have one that's a little noisey

Well I read that wrong...

If you truly have a noisy one... you will see it. And at that point the crank will need to be machined.

I might suggest you pick up a service manual... factory manuals are better and can be had on CD or .pdf reasonable.

I don't have those specs in front of me... maybe someone has them... but I would guess around 0.002 -0.003"
