351w OBD2 Pennsylvania.

I believe 351/460s kept EEC IV thru their demise in 97 anyway. My 97 460 is EEC IV.

Going to OBD II might be pretty rough.

I don't think anybody was trying to migrate over to OBD2, just retain it for monitoring/inspection purposes if it's already in place.

If you were going to rely on OBDII for emissions, I have no idea what to recommend.

If you're doing a tailpipe sniffer and visual only, Megasquirt let's you knock your fuel and Spark to whatever you want for testing purposes.

It's how I got through it, but I'm dealing with a 1988.

If there were no other projects on my plate, I'd love to get a regular cab first gen and try to do a 351W swap running Megasquirt. That plus a manual transmission would be a fun ride, and with MS I could play around with getting it tuned for pretty much anything... Somewhere down the road.

If you ever do wind up with one, I have an engine simulator you can plug it into to get it set up on the bench ??

And I'd question just how accurately any of the aftermarket systems are able to self tune without carefully selecting the components in the system like the MAF, injector sizing, etc.

They have a menu that's so easy a soccer mom could set it up.

Is that what you call a 2.9? An engine simulator?

Sounds about right...

An actual eec4?
You have a 97 with a 60 pin? And no obd2 port?

Can you get a pic of the catch code?

351 with maf and obd2 is common....I recently sold my last ba 100 setup...might still have a ba 100 pcm. 104 pin on all of them. 460 e can with 104 with 95 build date.

Yes.

What catch code you mean? The calibration sticker? But yes it runs EEC IV just like my ranger.

I dont know if its a 60 pin ecm. Never tore it apart, but i would assume it is??? Its MAP too.

I googled "catch code", so here ya go...

My 96 150 with a 300 had an OBDII port roughly where that black plate is. It also had MAF.

So it's a bothy....has eec4 connector and obd2?

No. Theres no OBD2 port on it. My 96 F150 had OBD II.

Bummer. Hard to find. Reg 250 or a cc fleet.??

It doesn't have the OBDII system because of the 8800 gvwr... OBDII was only required up to 8500 until '98 or '99.
