Any benefit to installing a 180 degree thermostat?

Well... at least your arguements are always very scientific.

I'm assuming it's a double cheeseburger from 2008. Modern burger king sandwiches have too many EPA regulations.

It's like a naked Hayabusa with a more upright riding position.

Thanks @fastpakr. Your response made me google it. I didn't really read a lot, but I did look at some pics. A Hyabusa is a GSX-R and the B-King is a GSX-B. Both are 1300cc. The B-King is a faster version of an already sick fast motorcycle. I have lost two friends to the Jigster so I will stay away from the B-King.

A properly functioning radiator and cooling system has enough extra capacity to cool down the engine below the thermostat setting under all conditions, so the thermostat controls the temperature to the set point. A hotter radiator has a larger temperature difference relative to the cooling air, so it can transfer more heat energy. I'm not sure what the purpose of putting in an 8% lower temp thermostat is supposed to be?

To stick it to the EPA apparently? :dunno:

Been riding since 1975. So yeah, I'm old, be 58 next month. Yes, a naked Hyabusa. Actually the displacement is 1340 cc's. It's in the modified fomr mine is in, 185 hp at the rear wheel. It's wicked fast. My other ride is an 1800 cc V-twin which in modified form is putting 125 hp on the ground. It's wicked fast as well. I like FAST vehicles. Don't have to say my LIGHTNING is also a FAST vehicle, do I? LOL

According to Pat Kunz there is a 1% increase in HP for every 5° drop in air intake temperature, due to a cooler lower intake. It's supposed to be a better performance upgrade than racing stripes, but I personally didn't notice any obvious HP increase.
My STX originally had those big angled stripes on the sides, and I've noticed it's not as quick since they were intact and in good shape. Sadly, they aren't available anymore, so I think I'm going to have somebody paint them back on. That should get me the 5-10% HP loss I've experienced for the last 5 years or so. And along with the 180° thermostat... I'll be "throwing it around a set of curves" like cbxer55! Or I'll throw a rod.

Liquid nitrogen chiller on intake.

Fastest Ranger ever.

Hey!.... No, that won't work. The way things have been going lately, I'd inadvertently manage to blow up my Ranger.
