What engines will fit in my 1998 Mazda b2500

it turns over, but when it finally cranks it just sputters and dies. It wont charge the battery either. Ive checked the wires and replaced the alternator and the pcm, plus a fuel filter and pump

Run a compression check.

I highly doubt this issue warrents total replacement.

I figure that feces actually dropped out of his tailpipe. That would be a good indicator ?;missingteeth;

Ok then thats 1 thing down.

Open up the intake tube and snort some starting fluid in it while someone cranks it. See if it runs longer then it does normally.

If it does -Fuel issue.
If it dont- Ignition/timing issue.

we have done that. It did run longer, but not by much

If you have compression and it runs, even for a few seconds on starting fluid the engine isn't toast. Not yet.

You have a fuel delivery problem by the sounds of it. A bigger engine won't make that better.
