TRS Moderator Survives Head On With Semi Truck

Holy shit. Leave it to a window licker to survive head on with a truck and crack jokes.

I vaguely remember Will from back when I had an RBV...uh...damn I'm old. 15 years ago? I actually used to be a Mod here...

Word still gets around outside the RBV circle. Glad you're okay Will.

Hows it been Sidewalk? It's been a while for sure. I'm on my third, no 4th, RBV since then.

I'm stunned by how well the cab was protected through that impact. Glad you're still with us, Will!

Dang dude! ×eleventy billion-- Glad you made it out of there ok. Definitely wishing you a speedy recovery

Yeah, best wishes for a speedy recovery for sure!!

Duct tape and WD40 can fix it.

Whoa! Prayers for a fast recovery, that’s amazing!

Sent from my kite using a trebuchet

Ehh, one of those vehicle wraps they do will cover all that right up LOL.

Damn that was a bad wreck, I've seen people killed in vehicles with much less damage before. Its amazing how bad a vehicle can look after a wreck and hear that someone climbed out and walked away.

To take on a semi-truck head on and still be alive is amazing.

So far no word on the location of that Optima Battery...maybe its burred in that semi-truck somewhere?

Loving a very weird life. But, I'm not crushing trucks either, so...

Wife did crush a OF Loser, but that's a win in everyone's book (and paid for the used F150). Sold my BII to Ric Redshred years ago, haven't heard about either in a long time!

I don't think he had it too terribly long.

Sonia (I don't remember exactly how it was spelled) was cool though.:icon_thumby:

Good to hear from you Sidewalk!

Looks from what I can tell that Will's truck had a lift and larger tires on it? Do you guys think that had anything to do with him surviving? Would the outcome been different if his truck was stock height, as in possibly him not surviving?

I was thinking about that too Bill. Everyone keeps mentioning crush space or whatever, and certainly that type of thing did absorb a lot of energy. But with this magnitude of an impact I think the little Ranger would have run out of things to crush and then I would be crushed. With the frame lifted I honestly believe the little truck clashed frames and that caused it to fly away before being completely destroyed. Most of the time the car that hits the semi is stuck in the grill of the semi, or under it with the firemen cutting it apart to find the bodies.

Hmm, thanks, glad you are still around. So lifted is definitely better HAHA...I mean your truck would probably have been thrown on its side even if it was stock height from that collision, but I certainly believe if your truck was at stock height you may have been eating the bumper of that semi-truck, surprised that semi didn't end up on the hood or through the windshield. Imagine if it were a "Smart" car you were driving...doubt you'd be here...seen a few aftermath's of them things after crashes and nothing left of them.
