The Bruiser

I just didn't want to buy a set of springs and they not be big enough or do what I want I think 3.5 eb coils would be a good start at least to get my truck on the trails again

I have the duff towers and 3.5" eb duff coils. If you're not installing a body lift no way 36s will clear without some cutting. I'd go with the 5.5" eb coils. Just my opinion. Good luck [emoji1303]

Thanks for the info I'd rather not use body lifts I'm not a fan of them I did end up getting 6 inch springs

Eb axles. I'm trying to keep it legal for the most part.

Which means the duff stuff towers would still need to be spaced out for the full width axles

Im going a different route now on the axles i want it to be street legal so my full width axles are up for grabs and im going with a dana 30 front and 8.8 rear

What transmission do i need for a 98 302 motor i want a standard trans but i dont know what trannys well work with it

narrow the 44, i wouldnt put a dana 30 under a power wheels car nevermind a 302

I thought about that but i dont want to cut up a good set of axles

better to cut up a good axle to suit your needs then pour money into a junk axle imo

Thats very true

General consensus is that the ZF is a stronger trans than the M5ODR2 but there are a lot more Mazda trannys around than the ZF.
You can use the one behind the 300-6 and of course, the one from a 302. You might need to drill out the bellhousing bolt holes on a 6 cylinder one. The pattern is the same but different sized bolts.

I've had two ZF's, I ran one for a year or so then found another, rebuilt it and it's in my truck now. Traded the old one off for a snap on torque wrench.
They're big and heavy but they're tough. I've actually had better luck finding them than I have the R2's

I look around for a zf what about transfer cases i dont plan to do the doubler on it ive been through the tech articles but im still unsure what to go with

If you go with a doubler, I highly recommend the NWF Eco box. If not stick with a np205 or bw1356.
The 205 will require a rear cross member.
The 1356 will require frame trimming. If you aren't afraid to trim the case it will provide a little more frame clearance which means less frame trimming.
